Oleander Sage is one of the more common plants in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, though it only grows in one of the five states throughout all of the American West. This is one of the fictional plants added to enliven RDR2’s environment, though the plant holds no scientific basis in real-life botany aside from being based on the Oleander shrub, which is in fact, not a type of sage.

That doesn’t mean Oleander Sage doesn’t have a real purpose in RDR2 or substantial consequences for using it the wrong way. Despite its lovely five-point pink flowers, Oleander Sage is one of the most poisonous plants in the game, causing your character to vomit and suffer a hefty loss of health. That’s why they’re a key ingredient in Deadly Poison and other poison-laced weapons such as arrows and throwing knives.

But you may also need to find some of these deadly plants to harvest on the fly when they pop up as Daily Challenges in RDO. That’s why we’ve crafted this guide to help save you time and point you to the best Oleander Sage locations in Red Dead Online.

Lemoyne

  • There’s a patch of Oleander Sage that grows reliably across from the dock at Calliga Hall, on the Northern bank of the Kamassa River.
  • Oleander Sage also grows near the Southeastern border of Calliga Hall, towards the top of the wetlands that border the Lanahechee River at the mouth of the Kamassa.
  • Travelling North you can find more Oleander Sage sprouting up South of Lakay. This growth occurs on the Southern end of the patch of land formed into a peninsula by the river that bends around it.
  • Back along the stretch of the Kamassa River separating the Bayou Nwa from Lemoyne’s Scarlett Meadows, you can find Oleander sage growing just up from the mouth of Ringneck Creek on the opposite river bank.
  • Continuing West there is another patch of Oleander Sage that grows on the North bank of Ringneck Creek, just past the road that runs along the Kamassa river.
