It’s possible that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be coming to PC in the near future, as a listing on LinkedIn has revealed that a former Rockstar employee worked on a PC version of the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26, 2018. There has been no official word on a PC port of the game, despite a vocal demand for the game to be brought to the platform. Red Dead Redemption 2 received a lot of amazing reviews and won several awards within the industry, which has only fueled the demand for a PC port even more since its release.
There have been a few hints of a PC port of Red Dead Redemption 2 being is in the works, but a new one was discovered on the LinkedIn page of a former Rockstar employee. According to eTeknix, a former Physics Programmer for Rockstar Games Toronto named Nan Ma had Red Dead Redemption 2 listed as a title that he had worked on in the past, with PC being listed as one of the platforms that he worked on for the game.
Nan Ma has since removed all references to Red Dead Redemption 2 from his LinkedIn page, which makes the situation all the more suspicious.
Rockstar has a history of making fans wait for the PC ports of their games, with Grand Theft Auto V being released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, but not being released on Windows until 2015. The PC ports are usually worth the wait, though, thanks to the incredible modding communities that Rockstar has attracted, as well as the wealth of customization options that the PC platform allows for its games.
Red Dead Redemption 2 spent a long time in development and the console versions of the game were clearly the priority over any PC ports. If the LinkedIn leak is real, then it means that the PC port of Red Dead Redemption 2 was being worked on alongside the console versions of the game, which means that the wait for a PC port might not be as long as that of Grand Theft Auto V.
