Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered has appeared on a ratings website, but there are questions over its legitimacy.

With nearly 10 years gone since Ghostbusters: The Video Game was released by Atari on last-generation hardware, it looks like the game could be coming back to commemorate the anniversary.

A Taiwanese game ratings website called Game Rating is featuring a remastered version of the game, with the title Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered being listed for launch on Xbox One.

Publishers of NBA Playgrounds and Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn, Mad Dogs Games, are also listed as the publishers for this game but it doesn’t appear that it will be made available on PlayStation 4, Switch or PC for the time being. The original game was playable on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and PC so if it does release, it’s likely to be branched out.

The listing is quite succinct, as far as listings go, but there’s no telling how real this is. It could be a mistake and it’s also possible that the listing could be in reference to a backward compatible version of the game on Xbox One. However, this isn’t so for any other backward compatible titles on the site, which does suggest that the latter isn’t the reason for it showing up.

So, it could be that Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remasters is indeed a thing and will be released for Microsoft’s console at some point in the future. It’s not unusual for game releases to be leaked by ratings sites and past instances of this have been mostly solid. If we had to guess, we’d lean towards a remastered version of the game being lined up for release.

Another factor providing possible credence is the fact that Game Rating is actually from the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee.

There’s no mention of a release date but, apparently, there’s a website set up for the game that hasn’t gone live as of yet.

Those with fond memories of the title that released 10 years ago will likely be pleased by this development in the hopes that it is actually real and will return to feed their nostalgia. Let’s take this with a grain of salt for now, though.
