Resident Evil has always included intricate puzzles in their games. While killing waves of Lycan can be hard on its own, some puzzles in Resident Evil Village can turn into real head-scratchers. For example, many players are having trouble with the Hall of Ablution puzzle in Castle Dimitrescu due to the confusing nature of the riddle given. However, there’s another puzzle in Castle Dimitrescu that’s thrown players through a loop.
Ethan Winters is on a quest to save his infant daughter from the clutches of Mother Miranda and the Four Lords of the Village. While Lady Dimitrescu was marketed as the game’s main antagonist, she and her castle are the first major area that Ethan will have to survive and explore. Inside, players will be met with the Five Bells puzzle. While it seems simple at face value, players are having trouble finding that fifth and final bell. Here’s how to complete the Five Bells puzzle in Resident Evil Village.
Resident Evil Village: The Five Bells Puzzle Solution
Towards the end of their Castle Dimitrescu adventure, players will enter into a room with a large portrait of Lady Dimitrescu on the wall. An easel will have a note pinned to it reading, “Let the Five Bells of this Chamber ring out.” On the easel is an image of an angel holding five bells. Here’s how to solve the puzzle.
To solve the Five Bells puzzle in Resident Evil Village, players must shoot five hidden bells in this area. They’ll know they’ve done it right when a tiny flame appears over the bell itself. Here’s where they all are:
- The first bell is in plain sight, to the left behind the easel. Players can knife this one so as not to waste any ammo.
- The second Bell is on top of a Wardrobe across from the easel.
- The third bell will require some timing. Players will see it swaying back and forth in a hole in the wall behind the easel. Players can line up their crosshairs where the bell will pass and place a well-timed shot to ring it.
- The fourth bell is on top of the Chandelier and can be seen after climbing the stairs in the room. It’s a tough shot but a makeable shot. Players can shoot the chandelier to make it swing, thus exposing the bell for an easier shot.
- The final bell had players upset after they found it. It’s not actually in the room and can be seen in the distance at the top of the stairs. Look out the window above the portrait of Lady Dimitrescu, and players will see the large bell. Shoot it to complete the puzzle.
Once complete, the portrait of Lady Dimitrescu will open, and players can proceed forward in Resident Evil Village.
