Why did Joyce Giraud de Ohoven (also known as Joyce Giraud) only stick around for season 4 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? Executive producer Andy Cohen revealed after Joyce’s exit that the fans didn’t respond well to her lack of existing connections with the show’s other women (via People). However, it looks like her connections with some of the Housewives improved after she left RHOBH. In September 2021, Joyce Giraud was seen celebrating fellow RHOBH castmate, Lisa Vanderpump’s birthday on Instagram, proving that she walked away from the series with at least one friend.
During her time in season 4, Joyce was involved in plenty of drama with her fellow Housewives. Notably, Joyce clashed with Housewife Brandi Glanville after Brandi made a racially insensitive remark aimed at Joyce. Although her gorgeous hair wowed the Housewives, the former pageant queen didn’t manage to make her mark on the series. After just one season, Bravo was ready to bid her and new Housewife, Carlton Gebbia, adieu and bring in some new talent.
Since moving on from RHOBH, Giraud moved ahead quickly with her life (via MSN). She is still married to Academy Award-nominated producer Michael Ohoven and is a busy mom to two sons, Michael Valentino and Leonardo Alexander. Outside of her home life, Joyce Giraud is the founder and CEO of Infinity Media — an entertainment production company. She’s also a successful model and a former Miss Puerto Rico for the 1998 Miss Universe crown (second runner up). Due to her beauty expertise, she is now running her budding empire known as Joyce Giraud Beauty. Her entire beauty line (from body butter to haircare sets) can be found on QVC.

When she’s not pitching her products on air, Joyce is active with a multitude of projects that take her behind the scenes, rather than standing in the spotlight. In 2014, in partnership with the YOU Foundation for Children (formerly the UNESCO Foundation for Children in Need), Giraud opened a school in Senegal, Africa. She also co-created and served as executive producer of a Spanish-language reality show named Rica, Famosa, Latina. That show also featured a companion talk show named Rica la Noche. She continued to exercise her acting muscles in House of Payne (2007-2020), Jeepers Creepers 3 and is currently in a new project, The Painting, that is in post-production.
In March of 2021, Joyce Giraud did an interview where she chatted about what she learned from her time on the show. “I have no regrets because everything happens for a reason. I do regret not doing my research properly as I didn’t want to be ‘tainted’ and wanted to meet the ladies with an open heart,” she said according to Cheat Sheet. And while she mentioned that she was friendly with Lisa Vanderpump and the Richards sisters, she had an opposing view on the other Housewives, “The rest of the ladies… well I guess Andy is right about the connection not being there.” According to Joyce’s Instagram, she was on set for the Miss Universe Puerto Rico in October 2021 and continues to do philanthropic work on top of her many businesses.
