Former star of The Real Housewives of New York Carole Radziwill called for the cancellation of Colton Underwood’s upcoming reality show. The former Bachelor announced a new reality show with Olympian Gus Kenworthy shortly after he came out as gay on Good Morning America. Underwood first appeared on The Bachelorette as a contestant before headlining his own season of The Bachelor. His coming out was well received but news of his show was met with criticism.

Radziwill first appeared on The Real Housewives of New York during its fifth season. She was considered a fan favorite throughout her entire run on the Bravo staple until a feud with costar Bethenny Frankel prompted her to leave after season 10. The former housewife has remained active on social media since her RHONY departure especially during the latest presidential election cycle. However, the journalist has taken up a new social media cause to speak out about: Underwood.

“Just in case you didn’t get it – when the experience & abuse of women is collateral damage to a man’s journey, regardless of sexuality, I’m going to get loud,” said Radziwill in an Instagram story, linking a petition to cancel Underwood’s Netflix documentary. She wrote #letsgetloud and prompted her followers to swipe up and sign themselves. She posted a second story linking an article from Advocate titled, “Colton Underwood’s Underhanded Attempt to Make a Buck.” Radziwill said, “Before you hate, DM me.”

“Congrats to Colton Underwood but also What??” tweeted the star when the news first dropped, “You apply & compete with other men to go on a TV show looking for love & you think you might be gay? What about processing that without involving TV crews and 25 girls. It’s a great day for gay men, bad day for young women,” she finished. Fans thought her tweet was insensitive to the coming out process but Radziwill doubled down affirming she had no problem with Underwood’s sexuality but rather that he hurt women in the process and was now being rewarded with a television show. “Is the entire country celebrating a man who stalked and harassed his ex-girlfriend, bro,” tweeted the star to a hater.

“Men, gay or straight have no idea of the shame associated with the subtle brutality of misogyny,” responded Radziwill to a fan defending Underwood. “Typical man telling a women what she can and can’t have an opinion on, sorry bro I’m not policing his story which includes criminal behavior,” told the princess to another, “I’m glad he can finally be honest now.” She affirmed her thought process was defending the women on Underwood’s season. “What about the journey of the women who were used on the show?” she asked.

Meanwhile, The Real Housewives of New York is gearing up for its anticipated 13th season. Radziwill may have left the show, but the show’s first-ever black cast member, Eboni K. Williams, joined the big apple cast. The taglines have been released, as well as the trailer. Although her friend, Heather Thompson, is set to make a cameo, Radziwill is not expected to do so.
