Charrisse Jackson-Jordan is explaining her fallout with fellow The Real Housewives of Potomac alum and former friend Monique Samuels. The two were friends up until Charrisse’s name was linked to vicious cheating rumors against Monique. The chatter ultimately led to a nasty brawl with Candiace Dillard and Monique’s subsequent exit from the show. Despite not being a cast member at the time, Charrisse still played a role in the buildup to Monique’s on-screen feuds.
Monique made her debut in season 2 and was introduced to the group by Charrisse. But by the end of season 5, Monique made the decision not to return to RHOP and made sure to go out with a bang. The season kicked off with Monique upset with members of the cast for spreading rumors that accused her of cheating on her husband with her personal trainer. The Not For Lazy Moms creator denied the rumors and ignited a war with Candiace after she invited Charrisse to one of her events. Monique accused Charrisse of being the one behind the rumors. With Charrisse no longer being on the show and only appearing as a friend, she never got a chance to defend herself against Monique’s claims.
Charrisse recently appeared on Bravo Insider’s Life After Bravo and shared her take on Monique and Candiace’s hair-pulling brawl in season 5. A throwback clip showed Charrisse introducing Monique to the group in season 2 and the OG housewife was asked when her relationship with Monique went sour. “Monique is a unique individual. She’s a control freak,” Charrisse said of her former friend after noting the decline of their friendship in season 3. “She likes to manipulate situations. She didn’t want me and Robyn and Gizelle to be friends. Constantly reminded me of what Gizelle did in season 1,” Charrisse explained. She went on to explain how she had been friends with Robyn for nearly 20 years and couldn’t just cut ties with her because Monique said so.
The show OG said Monique internalized Charrisse’s friendships with Gizelle and Robyn as being disloyal. Following Monique and Charrisse’s fallout on the show, Charrisse claims Monique started blasting her on Instagram Live and spreading rumors about her to mutual friends. Their tension continued to escalate going into season 5 when rumors of Monique cheating on her husband started to spread. Monique refused to discuss Charrisse on the show, but word eventually got out that she accused the show OG of being the culprit behind the cheating rumors. Charrisse says the ordeal shows how “dishonest’ Monique is as a person. “She thought I was coming back to expose the stuff with her and the trainer but she wasn’t even a thought,” Charrisse claimed.
She said Monique made her look like the bad guy when she never talked about her marriage or family. “How could I come back to talk about something that I don’t even know anything about,” Charrisse said. When asked if she foresees her and Monique ever reconciling, Charrisse said “never.” Monique’s only friends left on the show are Ashley Darby and Karen Huger. The Real Housewives of Potomac has continued on without Monique and Mia Thornton has proved to be the perfect replacement. In the event Charrisse chooses to return to the show, she will have a lot of unfinished business to tend to.
