Riot has revealed some new dragon-inspired skins for League of Legends players, and they’re certain to breathe some fire into specific characters. The new skin set is titled Dragonmancers, and Lee Sin, Ashe, Brand, Sett, and Aurelion Sol will be receiving a grand makeover, with the skins expected to appear in the next League PBE patch.

It’s been just over two years since Aurelion Sol got a fresh skin to flaunt – the last being the Mecha skin – and now five of the champions will also take flight with the majestic skin line. The League of Legends official Twitter page posted a full line-up of the new skins, with a preview of what these characters will look like underneath new scales. Each character skin has an elemental influence combined with the power and detail of dragons, that are beautifully unique from each other.

Martial artist Lee Sin gets paired with the legendary Storm Dragon skin that charges with blue lightning, while ice warrior Ashe showcases the Fae Dragon skin that looks ethereal with its green and pink color palette. Fiery tribesman Brand sports the Eternal Dragon skin that emits a deep purple not to be messed with, and cosmic champion Aurelion Sol hosts the Storm Dragon skin featuring an eye-catching blue base with accompanying galaxy-like enchantments. Crime boss Sett was paired with the Obsidian Dragon skin that comes with a golden Prestige Edition, and calls upon the power of the dragon to assist in battle.

While each skin is visually striking and exciting to watch even in the preview, some fans of LoL were not as thrilled with the new closet. Responding to the announcement post on Twitter, the LoL fan base asked why their favorite champion didn’t receive a dragon skin, especially assassin Akali, presumably to match her back tattoo. Other criticisms against Riot pointed out how the established styles that these characters carry no longer make their mark underneath these skins.

However, it wasn’t all doom and gloom on the announcement thread, as other fans applauded both the artwork and the additional magic that this dragon skin line brings to the characters. Fans will continue to project their hopes and dreams for LoL’s future, but for now, Riot has certainly delivered with these stunning dragon skins, that will be ready to take flight soon.
