Star ADC for RNG Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha retires from professional League of Legends due to health concerns.

Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha’s career spans over eight years, in which he won three LPL splits, the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and the Asian Games. Along with winning major events, Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha has also placed second at Worlds twice.

Previous to this announcement, fans were speculating as to why Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha wasn’t mentioned in RNG’s summer split roster announcement on June 1st. Some believed that he was traded, while others believed that he had retired. Whatever side you were previously on, one thing was for certain, fans and on-lookers were upset that Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha wouldn’t be taking the starting ADC role on RNG for the 2020 summer split.

On June 3rd 2020, RNG finally announced that Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha was retiring from professional League of Legends. Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha has and will always be looked at as one of the best ADCs to ever play League of Legends. Mainly known for his unmatched mechanics, and Vayne gameplay, Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha was respected by every ADC and every League of Legends player. In the post by RNG discussing his retirement, they stated that Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha was advised by health officials to retire from professional League of Legends entirely. Previous to this announcement, Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha’s health issues were widely known, especially after Nike and the LPL produced a documentary about the LPL. In the documentary, Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha discusses the pain that he feels and what doctors have told him.

The tweet highlighted above, is an edited version of the documentary and is designed to highlight the parts of the video where Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha discusses his health issues.

Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha tweeted this brief statement to inform fans and followers that he was retiring. Along with this two word statement, Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha also posted on a Chinese website titled Weibo. The translated version of what he posted can be found on Reddit. Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha in his longer post mainly discusses the specific health concerns that he was facing and why they were affecting him.



Overall, while Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha’s retirement may come to surprise to some; the reason behind his retirement should not. Still, Jian “Uzi” Zi-Ha’s retirement marks a very sad day for professional League of Legends, as they lose on their finest due to health issues.
