In Rocket Arena there is an undisputed queen of speed in the Arena, and she goes by the name Rev. She joins the tournament from The Boiler region, an area not known for arena championship victories. In fact, nobody from The Boiler has ever won the championship. Obviously, Rev seeks to change that and has come to the tournament as an incredibly viable contender, even without any sort of artifacts equipped.

As you can see in the gameplay video above, Rev’s movement speed clearly gains its advantage from her hoverboard, but she has some cool abilities aiding her in her quest for victory as well. First, she has the Doubly Whammy primary attack, which is a rapid-fire twin-barrel Gatling gun attack. She does have to reload, however, gets 16 shots off before needing to do so, making this weapon incredibly effective. Her secondary ability lets her lob Mag Mines at opponents or stick them to surfaces to set up traps. Finally, her Shatterslam ability charges down opponents with her hoverboard, a crushing charge ability. To maximize her chances of winning the arena championship, we recommend a speed build, a dodge build, and an all-around build to take home the trophy.

Speed Build

Rev is incredibly fast, and it may not seem intuitive to create a speed build for this hero. Until you’ve tried it. By adding artifacts that boost speed, Rev goes from being fast, to truly overpowered, especially in capture the flag type game modes. The Gemstone Elixir appears to still apply to her hoverboard when equipped (although, this could presumably be nerfed in the future). With Rev’s speed, it is easy to launch into the air, so adding the Boost Capacitor brings up her base airspeed as well. Because Rev finds herself up in the action due to arriving first, she is often a rocket magnet. Equip the Zephyr Vest, and Rev can zip back into triple K.O. territory in short order.

First Artifact – Gemstone Elixir – Ground movement speed increased 15%

Second Artifact – Boost Capacitor – Air movement speed increased by 10%

Third Artifact – Zephyr Vest – Move 40% faster after arena returns for 6 seconds

Dodge Build

Rev gets into the action quickly, often first. If you don’t see the benefit of going from speedy, to super speedy, consider a dodge build to increase Rev’s survivability beyond one ammo clip. A dodge build provides just this ability, allowing Rev to charge in, wreak havoc, and live long enough to provide the triple knock out. The Hunter’s Idol provides incoming damage reduction and should be equipped in the first slot. For an extra-large dodge radius, equip the Coldsnap Locket. Finally, due to her trait as a rocket magnet, adding the Bastion Bell to her loadout provides health regeneration quickly after each KO, of which there will be many.

First Artifact – Hunter’s Idol – Decreases damage and impulse received by 10%

Second Artifact – Coldsnap Locket – Dodge radius increased by 100%

Third Artifact – Bastion Bell – KOs reduce the time until health regen starts by 40%

All Around Build

For those finding themselves playing as Rev more often than not, they will need a solid all-around build that will suit their needs for most maps and game modes without the need to change equipment and artifacts. Here we suggest the Gemstone Elixir to ensure Rev is unrivaled as the fastest on the arena floor. Next, the Unstable Canister is a perfect partner to Rev’s Double Whammy and its high combinations. Finally, with Rev’s penchant for high KO totals, the Boom Bit should close out her all-around loadout.

First Artifact – Gemstone Elixir – Ground movement speed increased 15%

Second Artifact – Unstable Canister – Deal more damage the higher your blast meter, up to 8%

Third Artifact – Boom Bit – KOs boost damage by 8% for 8 seconds
