Many fans have been looking forward to playing through the Crown Tundra DLC when it is released. However, some players are looking past these two DLCs and are wondering what may be next down the line for Pokemon Sword and Shield. However, a recent rumor reveals that the third DLC for the game may be bringing players back to one of the previous regions in the series.

Since the first two DLCs were revealed during the January 9 Nintendo Direct, fans have been curious about what Pokemon will be doing after these DLCs are finally released. With the launch of the Crown Tundra DLC drawing closer and closer, other announcements for upcoming upcoming additional content for Pokemon Sword and Shield may also be on the horizon, and some believe they know what the third DLC may be up to.

One user took to Twitter to point out some elements in the game that lead him to believe that the next DLC might be taking players back to revisit the Kalos region. While the post has since been deleted, @Pualitics brought four details to other fans’ attention: “a suspicious train on world map, UK and France are close geographically, Kalos has a lot of open ends which need explaining, [and] Masuda said there’d be a big postgame.” The Twitter user ended their post by saying, “Yep, it’s Kalos time.”

Many players have been advocating for a return to the Gen 6 region for a while, citing many plausible reasons for this to happen through Pokemon Sword and Shield. If Nintendo were to take this direction for additional content in the Galar region, the fan reaction would be huge. Pokemon games haven’t brought two regions together in the same game since the remakes of Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal came out in 2009. While this would be amazing for the Pokemon community, nothing has been confirmed by Nintendo at the time this is being written. However, with fans still waiting on more news on the upcoming Crown Tundra DLC as well as what will come after, it still makes sense for this to be a possibility in the game’s future.

While many fans are eager for this to happen, this is only a rumor. Since a third DLC hasn’t been announced, it is uncertain whether or not there will actually be another bundle of additional content for the game. Some have also pointed out that a return to the Kalos region could be so big that it may be better to do it as another game entirely, but it seems that Pokemon may first revisit Sinnoh before this occurs. However, these are all fan theories theories at the moment, and only the future will show what is in store for the Kalos region.
