Rumor Pokemon on Switch Will Have This Many Pokemon to Catch

In all actuality, there is very little we know about Pokemon for the Nintendo Switch. However, rumors have been swirling for months now about what the games will have in store. Some of these rumors have proven to be quite controversial, like the latest one that claims the Pokemon games for the Nintendo Switch will only have the original 151 Pokemon to catch.

This rumor stems from the same 4chan poster who originally leaked the Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee titles for the games. The poster claims that, like Pokemon GO, Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee will launch with only Kanto-region Pokemon. If rumors about the games being remakes of Pokemon Yellow are true, then this would make some sense.

So now the question is, can these rumors be believed? Well, it’s worth pointing out that not long after this poster leaked the Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee titles for the games, Nintendo registered those domain names. It’s possible this poster has some inside information, and could be telling the truth about Pokemon on Switch only having the original 151 Pokemon to catch. Of course, it’s also possible that this is a lie designed to make fans of later-gen Pokemon games upset.

Like any other rumor, fans should take this information with a massive grain of salt. The fact is we won’t know for sure what Pokemon for the Switch has in store for fans until Nintendo or Game Freak decide to share more information about the games.

Luckily, fans shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to learn more about Pokemon for the Switch. Previous rumors have pointed to Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee being revealed by the end of the month, and if they aren’t, then fans should expect to see them at E3 2018 in June. After all, we know that the Pokemon games for the Switch are aiming for release in late 2018 or 2019, so E3 would provide the perfect spotlight for Nintendo to show them off.

Pokemon fans should keep an eye out for any news on the Nintendo Switch games throughout the month, and should be sure to tune in to Nintendo’s E3 2018 press conference on June 12.
