Ryan Reynolds shared his opinion about Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok this morning after finally seeing the superhero film in theaters. The third and final installment in Marvel Studios’ Thor trilogy released in November 2017 and capped off Thor’s story arc that began with Kenneth Branagh’s Thor in 2011. The film set the God of Thunder and the rest of Asgard on a new path (literally), which has them bound for Earth, but things may not go according to plan when audiences see Thor next.

The long-awaited sequel to Alan Taylor’s 2013 film, Thor: The Dark World, released a few months ago to overwhelming critical acclaim. Ragnarok earned an astonishing 92 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, which is 26 percent higher than the character’s previous outing. Moreover, it’s currently tied with Joss Whedon’s The Avengers and Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: Homecoming for second place among the highest-rated movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. To add to that, Ragnarok became a blockbuster success for the studio, earning $848.1 million at the worldwide box office (so far), thus putting it in eighth place on the global chart, in front of Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman ($821.8 million) and behind James Gunns’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($863.7 million).

Thor: Ragnarok is on its way out of theaters, but it seems Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds managed to make a last-minute showing, and he’s shared his thoughts with his fans on Twitter. Reynolds complimented director Taika Waititi on making one of the MCU’s funniest films to date and said that his mind should be protected at all costs. Take a look:

Considering that The Walt Disney Company is in the process of buying 21st Century Fox’s movie and TV assets, which includes the film rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four, it’s certainly possible that Reynolds’ Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, may one day appear alongside Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and the rest of the Earth’s mightiest heroes on the big screen. Of course, MCU fans will have to wait until federal regulators approve the deal before Disney can start making those plans. If it does happen, though, a great fourth-wall breaking joke could be Deadpool congratulating the Norse god on his successful movie – but that might just be wishful thinking.

Thor is slated to appear next in Anthony and Joe Russo’s Avengers: Infinity War this May, as well as in the Russos’ untitled Avengers 4 in May 2019. Reynolds, on the other hand, will reprise his role as Deadpool in David Leitch’s Deadpool 2, which hits theaters in June.
