Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Jupiter Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

As one of the more physically strong members of the Sailor Scouts, Sailor Moon’s Makoto Kino, also known as Sailor Jupiter, serves as the muscle of the team. With her superstrength and power over plants and electricity, Sailor Jupiter has the raw power and skill to help the other Sailor Scouts protect the world from evil, but she’s also not invincible.

With over eight-hundred of the wild and powerful creatures that make up the world of Pokémon, there were bound to be a few that could keep up and even exceed the power of the Sailor Scouts, Jupiter included. But not all Pokémon are created equal, and there are quite a bunch that would lose to Sailor Jupiter in a fight to.

10 COULD DEFEAT: LUVDISC

Believe it or not, this heart-shaped Pokémon is actually a fish. Based on the discus fish and the kissing gourami, the water-type Luvdisc is the symbol of love in the Pokémon world. It’s said when a couple finds a Luvdisc, they’re love becomes eternal. As cute as that is, Luvdisc isn’t great when it comes to battle.

Luvdisc is actually one of the weaker Pokémon out there, with incredibly low stats in attack and defense. As such, Sailor Jupiter would be able to take care of Luvdisc without breaking a sweat, especially since she can manipulate plants and electricity, two of Luvdisc’s greatest weaknesses.

9 WOULD LOSE TO: EELEKTROSS

While Eelektross’s eel-like appearance would make it appear to at least be part water-type, looks are deceiving. It’s purely an electric-type Pokémon, one with a bad habit of latching onto its prey with its big mouth and zapping it before eating. If that wasn’t terrifying enough, Eelektross also has the ability of “Levitate” which makes it immune to ground-type moves and makes it a Pokémon with no weaknesses.

Sailor Jupiter would likely have a hard time dealing with Eelektross since it’d be resistant to all of her electric powers and with no foreseeable weakness to exploit, hitting Eelektross where it hurts is even more difficult. Plus is Eelektross gets in close, its intense electric shock might just be too much for Jupiter.

8 COULD DEFEAT: SLAKING

Slaking is a large ape-like Pokémon with a good amount of strength at its disposal. Pokédex entries note that its pent up power can be terrifying to those who face it. With all that said, Slaking suffers from one big weakness, it’s incredibly lazy.

While Slaking can be a force to be reckoned with when it attacks, it tends to lay about quite a bit before deciding to get up and actually do something. That slothfulness is something Sailor Jupiter could likely use to her advantage and likely would attack Slaking when it’s at its laziest.

7 WOULD LOSE TO: TORTERRA

Often mistaken for moving forests, Torterra’s shell grows and supports life while it roams around. While it’s very slow, Torterra makes up for it with great defense and attack power. Unfortunately for Sailor Jupiter, Torterra’s tough shell might be too tough for her to crack.

Torterra has resistance against grass-type moves and is completely immune to electric attacks, thanks to it also being a ground-type. Already Sailor Jupiter’s attacks wouldn’t do much, but what would make things worse is if Torterra used “Earthquake”, which could do major damage to her and would render any plant moves effectively useless. For Torterra, slow and steady wins the race.

6 COULD DEFEAT: PIDGEOT

One of the earliest Pokémon trainers can catch in the Kanto Region, Pidgey’s final form, Pidgeot is an incredible flying-type. With a flap of its large wings, it can make powerful whirlwind and can fly faster than the speed of sound. In its Mega Evolved form, Pidgeot’s stats get a big boost and make it capable of flying for two weeks non-stop.

Sadly for Pidgeot, this wouldn’t do much against Sailor Jupiter. Pidgeot’s best attribute may be its speed, just Sailor Jupiter, like the rest of the Sailor Scouts, is fast in the air too and probably capable of keeping up with Pidgeot. If that wasn’t enough, her electric attacks would also hit Pidgeot where it hurts.

5 WOULD LOSE TO: GROUDON

The legendary Pokémon that created the land and rival to Kyogre, Groudon is a force of nature and not one to be taken lightly in a fight. Groudon’s very presence can cause volcanic eruptions, the heat it emits is so strong that it can evaporate water and make droughts. Already this makes Groudon a difficult opponent to fight for Sailor Jupiter, but any hope of victory vanishes when it enters its primal form.

Becoming bigger and stronger, Primal Groudon is said to be able to create more land with its smallest steps. Its body is brimming with hot magma, making it even more scorching hot than before. Sailor Jupiter wouldn’t have a lot of options to fight Groudon since it’d immune to electric attacks and the heat Groudon creates might be too hot for Sailor Jupiter to use her plant attacks without them drying out.

4 COULD DEFEAT: BLASTOISE

The final evolution of Squirtle, Blastoise is a Pokémon with strong defense to match its strong offense. The water cannons on its back are capable of piercing through solid steel, and it can hit targets from far distances, which get amplified when it Mega Evolves. When Gigantamaxed, it gets even more cannons that together are capable of puncturing holes through mountains.

Despite that overwhelming strength, Jupiter would probably still be able to beat Blastoise in any form it takes. Blastoise’s weakest stat is speed, being the slowest of the Kanto starters, and even with its tough shell, it can’t last forever against electric or grass-type attacks. All Sailor Jupiter would really need is an opening to attack with everything she’s got in order to beat Blastoise.

3 WOULD LOSE TO: KYUREM

The icy dragon Pokémon known as Kyurem might not look like much at first, but that’s because it’s actually incomplete. While powerful in its own right, when it’s allowed to fuse with its missing pieces (Reshiram or Zekrom) it becomes even stronger and gains all the powers the other Pokémon were capable of. With power over ice, fire, and electricity, Kyurem is powerful enough to destroy whole countries and even alter the atmosphere (just as Reshiram and Zekrom can).

It’s destructive capabilities aside, Kyurem in any form would be difficult for Sailor Jupiter to handle. As White Kyurem, its fire would scorch any plant attack and as Black Kyurem it becomes even more resistant to electricity. Heavily fortified and immensely powerful, there wouldn’t be much hope for Sailor Jupiter against Kyurem.

2 COULD DEFEAT: SHAYMIN

While Shaymin looks cute and harmless, it is still a Mythical Pokémon and it’s capable of getting rid of toxins and pollution in an area and creating fields of flowers. It also has a second form that gives it the ability to fly. Sadly for this Pokémon, that’s about as impressive as it gets and it wouldn’t do much against Sailor Jupiter.

Sailor Jupiter’s ability to manipulate plants far outdoes Shaymin’s, being both more powerful and versatile. Then there’s Shaymin’s Sky Form which would make it more quick and agile but makes it slightly more vulnerable to Sailor Jupiter’s electric powers. Lacking the kind of punch needed to do real damage to the Sailor Scout, Jupiter could easily beat poor Shaymin.

1 WOULD LOSE TO: ZYGARDE

Zygarde may start out as a small and weak looking Pokémon, but it becomes stronger and stronger when more of its cells are collected. Eventually, once it’s in its complete form, it becomes powerful enough to defeat other Legendaries, like Xerneas and Yveltal.

With it being ground and dragon-type, Zygarde is already resistant to most of Sailor Jupiter’s attacks, but if that wasn’t bad enough, it’s said that the opening on Zygarde’s chest is able to destroy everything in its path. Considering it’s more powerful than Legendaries of life and death, it would take the Sailor Scouts coming together to stop that kind of devastation. Alone, Sailor Jupiter might not stand a chance.
