Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Neptune Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Sailor Moon and her Sailor Scouts are some of the most recognizable manga and anime characters in the world, thrilling fans of all ages with their adventures for almost thirty years. Sailor Neptune debuted later in the series and she and her lover, Sailor Uranus, caused a stir in America as homosexuality was not something that was shown on kid’s shows. However, as years went by, her sexuality would be more accepted and Americans would get to see the character in the same light as the Japanese.

The Pokémon franchise is a huge part of pop culture all over the world. Generations of children grew up trying to catch them all. Pokémon are quite formidable, so if Sailor Neptune was to get into a battle with some, which ones would she defeat? Which ones would defeat her?

10 Could Defeat: Combusken

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Neptune Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Combusken is a Fire/Fighting Type Pokémon. Known for their powerful kicks, in combat they use their vocalizations to distract and intimidate their opponents. However, this isn’t Sailor Neptune’s first rodeo and she wouldn’t be scared.

The majority of Neptune’s attacks are water-based, which will be a huge problem for Combusken. Even if it can get in close to use some of its powerful attacks, Neptune can just hit with a wave of water, get some separation and keep the pressure on Combusken, taking it down.

9 Would Lose To: Kyurem

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Neptune Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

A Dragon/Ice Type of Legendary Pokémon, Kyurem is a hostile Pokémon and thought to be extraterrestrial. However, the real thing that is going to win this fight for Kyurem is the fact that it’s largely immune to water-based attacks, which make up all of Sailor Neptune’s offense.

Neptune could keep hitting Kyurem and her attacks would have no little to effect. However, since it can fly, there’s a good chance that a lot of attacks wouldn’t even land. Its attacks, though, would be extremely effective against her. It would take long before Kyurem took her down.

8 Could Defeat: Slugma

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Neptune Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Slugmas are Fire-type Pokémon. Composed of magma, they have to keep moving in order to keep from cooling down and hardening. That’s going to be a huge problem for Slugma when fighting Sailor Neptune. Her water-based attacks are sure to cool it down.

In fact, seeing as how Neptune can summon up giant waves of water, Slugma has about zero chance in a fight against her. It might be able to take a few shots but it wouldn’t be long before Slugma was a statue.

7 Would Lose To: Suicune

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Neptune Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Suicune is a Water-type Legendary Pokémon. Suicune is a very heroic Pokémon, known to be serious and calm. Being a Water-type, Suicune has a degree of immunity to other water-based attacks, not taking as much damage. Seeing as how Sailor Neptune’s entire offense is based on water, she’s in for a bad fight.

Neptune doesn’t have the same immunity to water attacks that Suicune has, so while her attacks wouldn’t do as much damage to it, its attacks would still hurt her a lot. There wouldn’t be much she could do before Suicune was able to put her down.

6 Could Defeat: Charmeleon

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Neptune Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Charmeleon is a Fire-type Pokémon and an evolved form of the Gen 1 starter Pokémon Charmander. Known for being vicious, Charmeleons are constantly seeking out enemies to fight. Unfortunately for it, Charmeleon trying to fight Sailor Neptune would be a losing proposition for it.

Like most Fire-types, Charmeleon is weak to water-based attacks and those make up all of Neptune’s arsenal. Charmeleon may be able to get some attacks in but Neptune’s powerful water attacks would allow her to take it out before it could beat her.

5 Would Lose To: Charizard

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Neptune Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

A Dragon/Fire-type Pokémon, Charizard is the ultimate evolution of Charmander and one of the most popular Pokémon around. While it’s weak against water attacks like all Fire-types, its ability to fly gives it the mobility it needs to avoid Neptune’s attacks and that will make a big difference.

Neptune may be able to avoid some of Charizard’s attacks but it has a whole dimension of movement that isn’t available to her; there’s a reason airpower wins battles. It would only be a matter of time before Charizard burnt her to crisp.

4 Could Defeat: Typhlosion

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Neptune Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

A Fire-type Pokémon, Typlosion is a powerful Pokémon, burning everything in its path when it’s angry. It can create explosions merely by rubbing its fur together and that spells bad news for most who fight it. Sailor Neptune would have to stay on her toes to defeat Typhlosion but her water-based attacks would definitely help in that regard.

Typhlosion’s ferocity would allow it to get an early advantage against Neptune. She’d summon a giant wave to help her out against it, dousing its flames and giving her the chance to cut loose with her attacks. After that, it’s all over but the falling down.

3 Would Lose To: Mewtwo

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Neptune Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

A Psychic-type Pokémon, Mewtwo was created in a lab to be one of the most powerful Pokémon around. Relentless in its drive to defeat its enemies, Mewtwo is cold and calculating. Its psychic attacks will allow it an easy win over Sailor Neptune.

Mewtwo can shield itself from the brunt of Neptune’s attacks and that will be very bad for her. If you can’t hit something, you can’t defeat it. Mewtwo has way too many things it can do to Neptune, though, and those attacks would spell doom for her.

2 Could Defeat: Entei

Sailor Moon 5 Pokémon Sailor Neptune Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Entei is a Fire-type Legendary Pokémon. Entei is known for being very fast, racing across the grasslands. While Entei is very powerful, it’s still weak to water-based attacks and that will win the fight for Sailor Neptune.

Its speed will be a problem for Neptune for a bit, but her attacks would begin to take their toll on Entei. It would be touch and go for a while, but she’d be able to pull a win out on this one before Entei would be able to beat her.

1 Would Lose To: Arceus

Arceus is a Normal-type Mythical Pokémon. It’s believed to be the creator of the universe and can stop time, repair damage to things instantaneously, and create nearly anything. Sailor Neptune is pretty formidable but she’s never faced anything as powerful as Arceus.

Neptune’s water attacks are pretty powerful but against something that can do everything Arceus can do, there really isn’t very much she can do. It could just freeze her in time and hit her until she was knocked out.
