Samsung’s next flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, will reportedly be an ultra-powerful device with top-of-the-line hardware and the latest software. Android tablets haven’t made much of an impression on consumers globally, even though Android smartphones remain super popular. However, Android tablets as a segment of the consumer electronics industry might get a massive boost if the reported specifications of Samsung’s upcoming tablet are even remotely accurate.
Samsung is said to be prepping three new tablets as part of its Tab S8 lineup next year. The lineup will reportedly include the vanilla Tab S8 with an 11-inch screen, the Tab S8+ with a 12.4-inch display, and the Tab S8 Ultra with a massive 14.6-inch panel. While some of the details about the upcoming devices have been leaked before, the latest report reveals most of the information regarding the S8 Ultra, including its full spec sheet.
The report comes from SamMobile, which claims that the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will feature a massive 14.6-inch notched WQXGA+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will also reportedly have thin 6.3mm bezels and offer S Pen support. However, while earlier reports suggested that the device might be powered by the Exynos 2200 processor, the new report now claims that it will ship with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, under the hood. Of course, it might so happen that the device will ship with different processors in different regions, just like the Galaxy S-series smartphones.
Huge Battery With 45 Watt Charging
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will reportedly offer up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, although there will also be 8GB and 12GB memory models and 128/256GB storage variants available as well. Imaging duties are expected to be fulfilled by a 13-megapixel camera and a 6-megapixel ultra-wide shooter at the back. Up front, the device will have two 12-megapixel cameras, including an ultra-wide shooter. The tablet is understood to support Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity, while the battery will be a massive 11,200 mAh capacity unit with support for 45W fast charging.
The Tab S8 Ultra is said to run Android 12 with Samsung’s proprietary OneUI 4.1 on top. If the details are correct, another notable new feature will be an updated DeX for tablets, which now includes support for portrait mode. The device will also be the first tablet to support the Samsung Health app. With so much in store for the next-gen flagship tablet from Samsung, it will be interesting to see if it will be able to compete on even terms with the very best that Apple has to offer. Of course, the aforementioned specs are still unconfirmed, so they will have to be taken with a pinch of salt until officially announced by Samsung.
