The Terrace is the latest TV to come from Samsung, and unlike some of the company’s other models, this one is designed for use outdoors. The Terrace is specifically designed for outside with the claims that it is weatherproof, water-resistant, and boasts a picture with increased brightness and anti-reflective coating. The Terrace is launching at an interesting time considering people are now staying at home more often than ever, although it is also at a time when the cost of these TV might make people think twice before making a purchase.

While there are already TVs you can buy for outside, they are arguably not to the same quality as The Terrace. At least not across the board, with many outdoor TVs coming with certain caveats, including designed for use in shaded areas. As a result, some of those TVs are not ideal for use in direct sunlight, and that appears to be what Samsung is directly targeting with its new model.

Pricing for Samsung’s new outdoors The Terrace TV is not cheap. In a press release, Samsung revealed The Terrace will be available in 55, 65 and 75 inch models, with the price rising to $6,499 for the largest of the three. This TV arrives as the latest addition to the company’s Lifestyle TV line, joining the likes of the The Frame, The Sero, and The Serif. All of these TV’s are designed to not only wow you with their picture and sound quality while watching TV shows and movies, but also be the center of attention and serve as a show piece, even when the TV is turned off. Those living in the US and Canada can already pre-order the 65 and 75-inch models directly from the company’s online store. Samsung also confirmed The Terrace will arrive in Germany, Australia, New Zealand and select other countries, later this year. Adding to the options, Samsung also plans on making a professional model available in the summer, designed for businesses.

Samsung Brings The Indoor TV Experience Outdoors

One of the key features with The Terrace is that Samsung is looking to offer a similar modern and sleek design to its indoor TVs with The Terrace coming in at only 59.8 mm. It also has a QLED 4K display and will likely be ideal for watching sports outside, thanks to its high motion rate and 2000 nits brightness level. Sunlight aside, The Terrace is largely designed to perform well in most environments and conditions, making it an all-season and all-locations type of TV.

For those in need of an even better sound to match the display, Samsung also introduced The Terrace Soundbar to accompany the TV, priced at $1200. Like the TV, the soundbar is also designed to be weatherproof, due to the included IP55 level of protection. In addition, it also comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support for added functionality, whether it is used with a Samsung TV or not.
