DC Comics’ new era begins with the highly anticipated anthology issue Infinite Frontier #0 on March 2. However, this won’t be DC’s only one-shot for the event, as the publisher has another anthology lined up for the summer. Infinite Frontier is set to be a refresher akin to 2016’s DC Rebirth. The 64-page Infinite Frontier #0 one-shot issue will set up new storylines that will branch out into their own individual comics, with some new series’ being introduced and many continuing.

As DC’s Future State ends, Infinite Frontier launches the DCU into their next phase of comics. Future State was a detour that revealed what may lie ahead. But Infinite Frontier’s relaunch will relocate its comics back into the present, moving all of its titles back into the main timeline. Fans will be able to get a preview of the year to come, finding out what comes next for the World’s Greatest Heroes and the adventures that are to happen.

Bleeding Cool has reported that DC Comics is set to publish a follow-up to March’s Infinite Frontier #0. The second anthology, Infinite Frontier #1, is said to be releasing sometime in July and will be similar to the first, although no further details were revealed. Could this mean that there is more to the story or does the publisher have another motive for following up on their original issue?

After March 2, a host of comics will debut new issues to kick off DC’s new era, alongside the comics that were being published pre-Future State. With this new information about DC publishing a part-two to its anthology, could this mean that they are readying for even more new titles to hit this summer? It seems that this could be very much what they are thinking. Utilizing big events that get readers’ attention to set up new storylines with other new characters sounds like a viable plan.

It was announced recently that DC’s newest Wonder Woman, Yara Flor is set to star in a new Wonder Girl series from writer and artist Joëlle Jones. Additionally, starting in May, a new Mister Miracle comic will begin. Reintroducing Shilo Norman, the series is being written by Brand Easton with art by Fico Ossio. The 64-page Infinite Frontier #0 will set off such series by establishing them in the present, allowing readers to get a taste of what their respective comics will be like.

DC publishing a second one-shot could give them a lot of space to establish another new phase, while also continuing what was already set up. Also, the second issue could be used to consolidate where the DCU is at. Either way, it would seem that DC’s Infinite Frontier plan extends far beyond the near future as they plan what’s to come.
