Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi from Shahs of Sunset has been a staple on the series since the first season aired in 2012, and we’re about to share interesting facts about her life. When she started on the show, GG was a self-proclaimed entrepreneur who was unemployed and financially dependent on her father. However, GG never really needed to work as she came from a wealthy family. Now, she is running her own business. She’s also caring for her son as a single mom.

When viewers first met GG in 2012, the Shahs of Sunset star was perhaps a bit rough around the edges. She received the name “Lochnessa,” which was coined by Reza Farahan. He started referring to her as Lochnessa when she would have a little too much to drink. She seemed to turn into a completely different person. However, GG’s “Lochnessa” days are long gone. Now, she is focusing on her life as a businesswoman and a mother.

GG was born on November 27, 1981, in Los Angeles. Even though she was raised Muslim, her family does not practice the religion. Growing up, she attended a Jewish daycare, a Catholic preschool, and Loyola Marymount University. The latter is a Christian college in Los Angeles. Her parents weren’t strict. They let her go out with her friends, day and night. Her father is Mahmoud Gharachedaghi, an architect and principal at GA Architecture and Planning. He would often appear on Shahs alongside his daughter. From a young age, GG had a fiery, combative personality that would often get her in trouble at school. Due to her getting into multiple fights, GG was kicked out of a number of schools. She fought on a whole new level. As she grew older, GG’s rebellious stage continued. She got eight tattoos, including one on the inside of her lip.

During an interview on E!’s Just the Sip, GG admitted to taking hard drugs at the age of 11 (via People). She and her sister Leila got away with it by lying to her parents (who didn’t even know what the drugs were). The siblings said that all their American friends were allowed to do it. GG’s mom and dad didn’t want to seem too strict. However, GG realized in 2016 that she had hit her breaking point. She decided that she was tired of living with addiction. The reality star now avoids hard drugs, but still smokes cannabis, which makes sense as she is the founder and CEO of Wüsah Cannabis Brand. Lats April, GG gave birth to her son Elijah amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. In October 2019, she announced that she was pregnant after finding the perfect sperm donor the year prior.

GG has always been a beloved member of Shahs of Sunset. Viewers have seen her go from a rebellious young woman to an impressive businesswoman who is also starting a family on her own terms. Now that season nine currently airing, fans are delighted to see GG is in a much better place than she was a few years ago. She has a bright future ahead.
