Simu Liu, star of Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, recently took to Twitter and shared some images of his special edition Xbox Series X inspired by the film. The lead actor of the high-octane martial arts blockbuster is just one of the owners of this custom console, which is currently available to win via a Shang-Chi-based Xbox giveaway.
As one of the first big-budget superhero films showing in theaters following worldwide COVID-19 lockdowns, Shang-Chi has been whipping up a lot of excitement among fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its focus on tightly choreographed fight sequences, signature comedic energy, and the charisma of beloved stars like Simu Liu and Awkwafina have made it a big hit both in cinemas and on Disney+. Hype and general discussion surrounding the film is being leveraged by Xbox by way of this cross-promotional endeavor, offering both gaming and movie fans the chance to win this one-of-a-kind Xbox Series X. Microsoft is certainly no stranger to custom console drops, with a special-edition Halo Infinite Xbox Series X announced to release later this year. While the Halo Infinite Xbox will likely fly off the shelves, it will definitely be easier to grab than the Shang-Chi console, which is only being offered to a single sweepstakes winner.
Xbox and Marvel fans got a chance to get a better look at this console on Friday thanks to a Tweet from Simu Liu. In the post, Liu shows off a model of the custom device that was gifted to him by Microsoft, along with some additional pieces of merchandise that came bundled with the console; The Shang-Chi Xbox Series X will include a similarly themed controller and a free Game Pass trial, along with a charming posable action figure.

Compared to recent releases like the Xbox Space Jam controller, this design appears to be much more minimal. Some fans could find this somewhat underwhelming, while others are sure to consider it a bit more tasteful and mature. Though it is also available for purchase outside of the giveaway, the action figure is a fun addition to the bundle.
Marvel and Xbox are two instantly recognizable brands that are loved by consumers across the globe. The iconography and storied histories of these companies make for great collector’s items, and this Shang-Chi Xbox Series X is certainly one of them. The giveaway isn’t over yet, so fans will have to live vicariously through Simu Liu until the winner is revealed.
