The new Shaun the Sheep Christmas special, Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas, features a cast of both new and returning voice actors. Produced by BBC One, Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas is based on the Shaun the Sheep television series, a stop motion animation akin to The Boxtrolls movie, about Shaun, a sheep who constantly leads his Flock into trouble without getting caught by The Farmer who tends to them. Shaun The Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas is both the series’ second half-hour special, after Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas, and its second Christmas special.

While Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas will also air on BBC One, it was released on Netflix in the United States on December 3rd. In the new Christmas special, Shaun leads a raid on the farmhouse to steal bigger stockings for The Flock, so they could receive more presents. However, Shaun loses Timmy, a lamb, during the adventure, so Shaun has to rescue Timmy before he becomes someone’s Christmas present.

Although the characters in Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas do not talk much, the special still features a prominent cast. Many voice actors returned to perform their characters from Shaun the Sheep, but other cast members are new due to the introduction of new characters. Justin Fletcher as Shaun and Timmy

Fletcher returned to reprise his roles from the original 2007 Shaun the Sheep series. He voiced both Shaun, the titular character, and Timmy, Shaun’s mischievous baby nephew. Beyond Shaun the Sheep, he is primarily known for his work in the children’s shows Jollywobbles and Something Special, which taught children with learning and communication delays Makaton sign language.

John Sparkes as The Farmer and Bitzer

Sparkes also returns from Shaun the Sheep to voice both The Farmer and Bitzer. The Farmer owns the farm where Shaun and The Flock live, completely oblivious that his sheep are not normal animals. Bitzer is his sheepdog, who is friends with Shaun but struggles to ensure that The Farmer does not discover his sheep’s true nature. Sparkes is a Welsh actor and writer, known for works like Naked Video and Calendar Girls. In children’s media, he also voiced several characters in Peppa Pig.

Kate Harbour as Timmy’s Mother

Harbor reprises her role as Timmy’s Mother, a doting sheep who cares deeply for her son’s safety. Timmy’s Mother, along with Timmy, were the only two sheep from Shaun the Sheep to appear in the spin-off series, Timmy Time. Harbor has performed in many award-winning children’s animated shows, including Bob the Builder and The Secret Show.

Marcus Brigstocke as Farmer Ben

Portraying one of the new characters introduced in Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas, Brigstocke voices Farmer Ben. Unlike The Farmer on Shaun’s farm, he is wealthy and focused on public appearances until his daughter gets into trouble. Brigstocke is a British comedian and actor who has performed in many BBC television and radio shows. He is also known for his roles in Love Actually and Blinded by the Light.

Anna Leong-Brophy as Jin

Leong-Brophy voices another new character, Jin, Farmer Ben’s trendy wife, who learns to let life be a little messier. Leong-Brophy is a British comedian and actor. She has appeared in various television shows and movies, including Back, Traces, and Last Tango in Halifax.

Laura Aikman as Ella

Aikman portrays the final major new character in Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas, Ella, who accidentally receives Timmy as a Christmas present. Unlike her fashionable parents, Ella is messy, playful, and rebellious. Aikman is a British actor and producer. Much of her voice acting experience comes from video games, but she has also performed many live-action roles in television shows, such as The Job Lot and Liar.
