When it comes to Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne HD Remaster, you’ll soon find yourself partnered with a magatama — a parasite that lives within you and that makes you the Demi-Fiend in doing so. Your magatama essentially acts as your armor, weapon, and skills all packed into one.
Throughout the game, you can collect other magatamas to equip by “ingesting” them, giving you access to new skills. Each magatama also offers different possible benefits/negative effects when you level up. You’ll find a list of all the magatamas you can find and how to get them right here.
Where to Get Each Magatama
There are 25 different magatamas to collect throughout the game. Magatamas are divided into three different elemental groups — Light, Neutral, and Dark. Below are all the magatamas you can get listed by their element.
Light
- Adama: Obtained once you defeat Albion at the Amala Temple.
- Ankh: Either obtained by releasing Pixie in Yoyogi Park or later purchased from the Junk Shop in the Great Underpass of Ginza.
- Geis: Earned by completing the Manikin Boy’s puzzle in Asakusa.
- Iyomante: Purchased from the Junk Shop in Shibuya.
- Kamurogi: Purchased from the Junk Shop in the Asakusa Tunnel.
- Narukami: Obtained once you defeat Thor in the Mantra Headquarters.
- Nirvana: Purchased from the Junk Shop in Asakusa.
- Sophia: Purchased from the Junk Shop in the Asakusa Tunnel.
Neutral
- Gehenna: Purchased from the Junk Shop in Asakusa.
- Hifumi: Purchased from the Junk Shop in the Great Underpass of Ginza.
- Kailash: Purchased from the Junk Shop in the Tower of Kagutsuchi.
- Kamudo: Purchased from the Junk Shop in the Great Underpass of Ginza.
- Masakados: Visit the minister at the Cathedral of Shadows after collecting all other 24 magatama to receive the Lord’s Sword. Take the sword to the gravestone in the Tower of Kagutsuchi and examine it to teleport to the Bandou Shrine. Lower the four pillars by defeating the devas and then approach Masakado to obtain it.
- Murakumo: Obtained once you defeat Ongyo-Ki in Ikebukuro Tunnel.
- Muspell: Obtained once you defeat Mara in Shibuya.
- Wadatsumi: Obtained once you defeat Forneus in the Shinjuku Medical Center.
- Vimana: Purchased from the Junk Shop in the Asakusa Tunnel.
Dark
- Anathema: Obtained once you defeat Ose in the Assembly of Nihilo.
- Djed: Obtained once you defeat the Moraie Sisters at the Obelisk.
- Gaea: Obtained by opening the door in Mantra HQ on B1F. You must have a strength stat of at least 24 to be able to open the door.
- Gundari: Obtained once you defeat Bishamonten at the Northern Temple in Ueno.
- Marogareh: Automatically obtained at the beginning of the game.
- Miasma: Obtained once you defeat Mizuchi in Kabukicho Prison.
- Satan: Obtained once you defeat Black Frost in Kabukicho Prison.
- Shiranui: Purchased from the Junk Shop in Shibuya.
