A new trailer for Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is strongly hinting that Sonic the Hedgehog is coming to the game as a playable character. Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is an upcoming collection of several titles that have been revamped for modern systems, which includes Super Monkey Ball, Super Monkey Ball 2, and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe.
A new trailer for Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania has been uploaded to the official Super Monkey Ball YouTube channel. The trailer details the main playable characters, such as Aiai, Baby, and Yanyan. The trailer ends with a scene that all but confirms that Sonic the Hedgehog will be playable in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. The final scene shows a blue ball collecting a golden ring on a track with a pattern that is similar to the Green Hill Zone from the original Sonic the Hedgehog.
It has already been confirmed that several classic Sega consoles will be playable in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania as DLC, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Sonic as a playable character. The only question is whether other Sega characters will appear, either in playable form or as outfits for the monkeys? A Phantom Thief costume from Persona 5 or Kiryu suit from Yakuza wouldn’t be amiss in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania.
