Sony’s State of Play revealed a number of great titles coming in the near future. However, it didn’t offer very many details and many fans disappointed that there wasn’t more information about Final Fantasy VII Remake.

The stream began by showing off what many fans of the Monster Hunter series had long been anticipating. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has received an official launch date of September 6, 2019. We also got to see a few of the new creatures that will appear.

The second game shown was Riverbond, which was released in 2018 for PC and will be coming to the PS4 this summer along with a number of great-looking crossover skins such as Shovel Knight and The Kid from Bastion, as well as six others.

Third on the list is already causing waves of excitement online. Predator: Hunting Grounds is being described by Sony as “a new competitive online multiplayer experience.” You can either play as an elite Fireteam that is charged to complete paramilitary operations while a Predator mercilessly hunts you, or you can play as the Predator. If you choose the latter, you’ll be armed with deadly alien weaponry and have to pursue your prey. Given the spotty history of both Alien and Predator games over the years, we can only hold our breath and wait to see if this one hits the mark.

The long-awaited gameplay reveal for the MediEvil remake was fourth in the stream, and it did not disappoint. It’s clear that the developers have decided to focus on the original style of gameplay, action, and weapon choices. Soon you will be able to join Sir Daniel Fortesque in what promises to be a fun adventure.

The fifth reveal was a bit of a surprise. Sony has revealed an original game called Away: The Survival Series. In it, players will be able to control the cutest sugar glider ever animated in history as they are forced to escape natural disaster and find sanctuary. It seems a similar to Ori and the Blind Forest.

The stream concluded with two final points. First, there will be an exclusive Days of Play PlayStation 4 console to coincide with the event in June. Second, Sony seemed determined to snuff out the hope of those looking for more information on the Final Fantasy VII Remake. In the days leading up to the State of Play stream, Sony teased players with a screenshot from the original game of Cloud Strife at the Chocobo farm, stating that there would be news of the project. While many fans hoped to hear more about the game, nothing new was revealed. Instead, there was only footage of the assault on the first Mako Reactor, with a message stating that more news would be released in June.
