Special Hat Pikachu’s are being distributed in Pokemon Sword & Shield. This guide will help players with every distribution code for the game. Pokemon Sword & Shield will soon be releasing the second half of its expansion pass. This includes the Crown Tundra, a new frozen location full of old and new Pokemon to encounter. Similar to the previous half of the expansion pass, the Isle of Armor, the game comes with a new story to explore, diving deeper into the mythos of the Galar region. To celebrate the upcoming DLC, Game Freak is going to be distributing Pikachu’s with different versions of Ash Ketchum’s hat from the anime. Here’s how players can collect them all.
Ash Ketchum has been the main protagonist of the Pokemon anime for over two decades now. Each new generation of Pokemon titles comes along with new seasons of the anime that give a better look at the culture and Pokemon from each respective region. Since the third generation of Pokemon, every time Ash arrives in a new region, he comes with a new design to sport a new beginning. Each of these new designs comes with its own hat. While the connections between the games and the anime have been very limited, certain events have allowed trainers to bring over popular Pokemon from the anime into the video games. Here’s how players can get every hat variant of Pikachu in Pokemon Sword & Shield.
Every Special Hat Pikachu Code in Pokemon Sword & Shield
Each Pikachu will slowly be available throughout the month of October. Currently, only the original Ash cap Pikachu is available through distribution. Here are the dates and codes for every confirmed Pikachu hat in the game.

To claim the Pikachu, all the player has to do is enter the code in the games Mystery Gift option in the pause menu. Doing this will give the player a special Pikachu. Pokemon Sword & Shield isn’t the first entry to use the Mystery Gift feature to obtain new Pokemon. This was how Game Freak has been able to do special events around the globe for legendary Pokemon. Now to build up excitement for the Crown Tundra, these special Pikachu take center stage. The World Cap itself being the most recent iteration of Ash Ketchum’s design. Players will also be able to bring their special Hat Pikachu’s from Pokemon Go in the near future.
