Marvel’s Spider-Man has received two new DLC suits just in time for the release of Far From Home in cinemas. The PS4 exclusive released last September, and quickly became one of the most popular games of 2018.
Marvel’s Spider-Man was acclaimed for its intuitive combat, engaging story, and overall accurate feel of playing as the title character. Its Metacritic score is 87, making it the highest-rated Spider-Man game alongside the iconic PS1 title. In fact, Marvel’s Creative Director has called Marvel’s Spider-Man “the Iron Man of Marvel video games.” The game certainly left many doors open for a sequel. (Indeed, a sequel might already be in the works.) Sony supported Marvel’s Spider-Man with an expanded DLC storyline, as well as free costumes like the Bombastic Bag-Man and the Sam Raimi film suit. Now, it’s time to update the game once more, because two more suits have been added.
Insomniac Games announced on the PlayStation Blog that the company has teamed up with Sony and Marvel to bring two new suits to the game. To celebrate the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home in theaters, players can now use the Upgraded Suit seen in the movie, as well as the Stealth Suit.
As for when you can use these suits in the game, Insomniac says they became available after the player builds the Advanced Suit. That is pretty early in the game, so most players will be able to access the Upgraded and Stealth suits right away. For those purchasing the game for the first time thanks to its price drop, it’s important to remember that the suits from Spider-Man’s previous movie, Homecoming, are also available.
It is certainly a good thing to see Sony continuing to support Marvel’s Spider-Man. DLC has slowed down however, and it isn’t likely we’ll be getting any more expanded stories or new suits in the near future. If Insomniac really is developing the sequel, then all the work is being dedicated to that. In the meantime, players can put on the Upgraded Suit and swing by Avengers Tower for more of Photo Mode.
