A devoted Marvel fan has recreated the Spider-Man Iron Spider suit complete with what appears to be expanding nano technology. Worn by Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, the armor debuted at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming as Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) gift to the young hero, in the hopes that he officially joins the Avengers. However, it wasn’t until Avengers: Infinity War that Spider-Man sported the advanced battle costume as he ventured into space during the fight against Thanos (Josh Brolin).

The Iron Spider suit is the final armor that Tony gifted his mentee. Even after his death in Avengers: Endgame, Peter continued to sport it in Spider-Man: Far From Home, at least at the start of the movie. At the end of that same film, the young web-slinger created his own costume using Stark tech. However, according to footage from the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, fans can expect that the Iron Spider will make another appearance in the upcoming film. Many viewers are curious as to why Peter reverts back to it in the upcoming threequel, but are more than happy to see it again — especially given how striking and easily recognizable its design is.

It’s no wonder that the suit has inspired one Marvel fan to recreate the Iron Spider costume. Jake Laser took to to Instagram share his own impressive version of the armor. To capture the same aesthetic effect, Laser shows how he used tiny liquid crystals that change color when heated, creating an effect that makes it seem like the suit is “flowing” into the wearer. The spider leg-like appendages, which are made of inflatable tubes, also pop out in the same way as the original Iron Spider suit. All of these incredible elements are achieved with just the push of a button, and the result bears an uncanny resemblance to the original suit. Watch the video below:

While Peter has worn the Iron Spider suit several times since he received it in Infinity War, it’s likely the armor has a lot of features that still haven’t been used. Considering that his first Stark-made suit was fitted with several secret capabilities, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that the same was done to its follow-up. However, Spider-Man is unlikely to stick solely to the Iron Spider suit, or any one ensemble for that matter. Superheroes tend to sport a different costume every time they appear in a new movie for varying reasons, including to boost merchandise sales with each new release. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter is set to wear at least a few different kinds of armor, including the Iron Spider.

Aside from Holland’s Spider-Man costumes in the upcoming Phase 4 film, there’s also plenty of speculation as to what Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s potential suits will be, if they were to appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Both actors have long been rumored to feature in the upcoming Jon Watts-directed prequel, as its narrative ties into in the wider Marvel multiverse. If Maguire and Garfield do cameo, however, chances are that their original Spider-Man costumes won’t be nearly as advanced as the Stark-created Iron Spider armor.
