Andrew Garfield is busy promoting his new Netflix film, Tick, Tick… Boom!, all while being hounded about Spider-Man: No Way Home. Is he in it? Is Tobey Maguire? Everyone wants to know and frankly, Garfield looks tired. So Insomniac’s own wallcrawler has made a video saying, “Leave him alone!”

If you were online a lot in the early 2000s, Yuri Lowenthal’s video will feel a bit familiar – he’s parodying Cara Cunningham’s viral hit from 2007, ‘Leave Britney Alone.’ Spider-Men have to stick up for each other, eh?

That wasn’t about cameoing in one of the most anticipated superhero flicks, though. Cunningham’s video was in defence of Britney Spears’ comeback at the MTV Video Music Awards. It got four million views in two days. Lowenthal might not hit those numbers, so people probably won’t leave poor Garfield alone. But it isn’t long now before No Way Home so, hopefully, he’ll be able to rest when it releases.

No Way Home already has a few villains from past films cropping up. We’ve seen Doctor Octopus, Sandman, and the Green Goblin from Sam Raimi’s original trilogy, as well as Electro and Lizard from Marc Webb’s two movies. Octopus even references Maguire’s Spider-Man, clearly thinking he’s fighting him and not current MCU star Tom Holland.

Leaks and rumours are also abundant, being corroborated by new trailers and footage – they indicate that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will appear as their Spider-Men, standing alongside Tom Holland like a multi-Doctor special in Who. But nothing has been officially stated or confirmed, even if Lizard is getting punched by a ghost in the newest trailer.

Garfield is denying it while Maguire cheekily smiles, nods, and says yes – it’s a bold approach. Whatever the case, you’ll find yourself disappointed or satisfied in December when No Way Home swings into cinemas. It comes out on the 15th – you can wait a few more weeks.
