Haley is one of the least popular NPCs in Stardew Valley due to the fact that she comes off as rude when first spoken to. But, she’ll become much more endearing the more you get to know her, and she starts to reveal her softer side.

Haley also isn’t the easiest marriage candidate to romance, as her favorite gifts can be harder to find in the early game. But, like the rest, she’s well worth the effort, because she’s a kind and caring person once her icy exterior begins to thaw.

Gifting to Haley

Stardew Valley A Complete Guide To Marrying Haley

Haley is a character with expensive taste, which can be frustrating, especially in the early parts of the game when you are strapped for cash. Most of her loves won’t be available for quite some time in-game. It also can be frustrating as she doesn’t have many likes, but she has a long list of dislikes that include pretty much all the items you produce on your farm. Luckily, once you repair the bus, you can get a ton of Coconuts from the Desert, which she loves.

Triggering Haley’s Cutscenes

Haley will have most of her hearts events inside of her own home. They will revolve around the fact that she has a secret passion for photography. Be aware that Haley does ask for a lot of dialogue responses, so it’s easy to mess up and lose points with her for those who aren’t paying close attention to the choices.

Two Hearts

For this event, both Haley and Emily must currently be home. You will walk in on the two as they are arguing over cleaning the couch, and your input will be requested.

Four Hearts

You can enter Haley’s house and she’ll ask for help opening a jar.

Six Hearts

During this event, you’ll find Haley at the Beach. You’ll need to enter the area in Spring, Summer, or Fall between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. She will be upset over losing her grandma’s bracelet and ask you to help.

Afterward, you will need to locate the lost bracelet near Elliot’s cabin.

Eight Hearts

This is another event that can’t occur during the winter season. Head to Cindersap Forest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on a sunny day. You will find Hailey near Marnie’s Ranch trying to take pictures. She encourages you to join her and take photos with her.

Ten Hearts

For the ten heart event, you won’t receive a letter like you normally would with many of the other marriage candidates. Instead, you just need to visit Hailey at her house. When you enter, Haley will take you to her darkroom to show off her photos.

Haley will then ask the player what you want to do, but no matter the choice her friendship points won’t be affected. After this, the two of you will share a kiss, sealing your romantic partnership.

Fourteen Hearts

As with the other marriage candidates, Haley has a 14 heart event as well. You can only reach this friendship level if you’re married to her, so it isn’t part of the romancing that we’ve outlined here, and as a result, we won’t spoil it for you!
