Twitch streamer Jaegerrmeister hadn’t cleaned his room in 14 years thanks to World of Warcraft, and now Classic has trash piling up again.

The world’s messiest streamer (not an official title, but probably still true) is back to his old ways. Jaegerrmeister is his name, and not picking up trash is his game. Well, World of Warcraft is actually his game. It’s also the reason he doesn’t clean his room. The streamer once admitted that he hadn’t cleaned since 2005, earning both disgust and fascination from his viewers. The tour of his messy room went viral, prompting him to literally clean up his act. Then a new World of Warcraft event happened. Now Jaegerrmeister is a gremlin once more.
TheGamer covered a bizarre movement earlier this summer where streamers were showing off their dirty rooms. In order for someone to amass enough clout and fandom to actually make good money Twitch streaming, they have to be at their computer for hours on end every day. It’s a lifestyle that doesn’t really lend itself to cooking healthy meals or keeping up with chores. As a result, viewers in May/June were treated to a parade of cluttered desktops, trash bags stacked in corners, and Amazon boxes galore.
Jaegerrmeister was the worst offender, however. During an early June stream, which TheGamer covered, he admitted that he hadn’t cleaned his room in 14 years.
When streamer-focused site Dexerto asked Jaegerrmeister for a comment, he has this to say: “I’d like to advise anyone who doesn’t already play WoW to avoid the game at all costs, else they have a room like mine.”
Sadly, he didn’t follow his own advice. The launch of World of Warcraft Classic sucked many players back into the game. The Classic version is meant to perfectly recapture the experience of original WoW right down to everything taking way too long. If current WoW is enough of a time sink to get someone to abandon their chores, Classic is even worse. Sure enough, Jaegerrmeister told viewers that Classic has him slipping again.
“You can clean the room, you can’t clean the lifestyle dude. I f**king got back on this classic WoW s**t – dude, my room absolutely went to hell, I’m going to be honest,” he said.
Last time he cleaned his room on-stream. Viewers asked if that would be happening again, and he said no. Does that mean he’s given up? Will it be another 14 years before Jaegerrmeister picks up his trash? Will Twitch even be around then? Only time, and one man’s questionable lifestyle choices, will tell.
