In Super Dungeon Maker, an indie game in early access, players spend their time crafting elaborate dungeons, sharing them online, and trying to beat other players’ creations. To make the best dungeon, you need to have the best tools.
One tool that Super Dungeon Maker provides is the ability to diversify your Floors. Some may require the player to get creative in their problem-solving, while others might require a power-up. There are five Floor options in total, and this guide will explain everything you need to know about them.
Basic Floor

The Basic Floor is exactly what it sounds like. Basic. When you’re creating new rooms, you’ll probably want to use this tool. Monsters can walk on it, decorations can be placed on it, all the good flavor that brings your dungeon to life!
Quicksand Floor
The Quicksand Floor is the second option in the Floor Menu. Players can walk over it like normal; they aren’t slowed down or anything. However, the longer they stand on a Quicksand Floor, the more danger they’re in. A darkening circle will grow around them, eventually swallowing them up entirely.

It should be noted that the Quicksand Floor is available in all dungeon styles except for the Forest. The Quicksand Floor is the only Floor-type that changes depending on the dungeon style.
If you’re building a Forest dungeon, the Quicksand will be replaced by a dark purple Floor option which, at the time of this writing, seems to be purely for aesthetic purposes. The player can walk on it like normal. If new information becomes available, this guide will be updated.
Pit Floor and Cracking Floor

The Pit Floor allows you to create a gaping hole in your dungeon! If a player walks into it, they’ll fall to their death.
However, if you build a Floor below where the Pit Floor appears, the player can actually just fall onto the lower level of your dungeon. This needs to be used strategically, but can work wonders whenever it’s done well!

The Cracking Floor is just like the Pit Floor, except that it appears with stones over top of the pit. Players can cross it by walking at first, but once they stand on one of the stones it will fall into the pit (and so will the player, if they’re not over to the other side quick enough!).
Just like the Pit Floor, a Cracking Floor could transport the player to a lower level of your dungeon instead of killing them.
The Power-up associated with the Cracking Floor and Pit Floor is the Feathers, which gives the players the ability to dash. They’ll be able to dash over a pit that’s one or two tiles wide.
Foggy Floor
The Fog Floor hides that area from the player’s sight. There’s a golden egg in the picture above – can you see it through the fog? You should also know that this floor is exclusively available in Forest-style dungeons.
Water Floor

The Water Floor is perilous to unprepared players. It’s the last Floor option you’re given. When you walk into it, you’ll drown!

To safely cross the Water Floor, players will need the Webbed Boots Power-up.
