DC Comics’ Teen Titans series is ending after their 47th issue coming this November. It’s probably just as well, seeing as how their team recently got smaller. Robin and Superboy have both left the team (albeit for very different reasons), leaving only Kid Flash, Red Arrow, Crush, and Roundhouse remaining.

While Teen Titans #47 looks to be their last mission, apparently they’ll be receiving some help and wisdom from the older generation as they look to the future.

Teen Titans is currently on its 43rd issue, written by Robbie Thompson and drawn by Jesus Merino. Angered that KGBeast is back in operation once more, Damian Wayne, the current Robin and son of Batman, is seeking revenge for what the hired gun did to Nightwing when he shot him in the head. While Batman broke his back, it seems as though the assassin has recovered, which leads Damian to try and come up with a more permanent form of justice: murder. Naturally, the Teen Titans are against it and can’t condone the idea of killing KGBeast, no matter how terrible he may be. Damian is resolved however, and the issue ends with Damian fighting both the Teen Titans and KGBeast simultaneously, and Damian slicing one of KGBeast’s arms off.

Over the course of the next few upcoming issues, it’s more than likely that the rift between Damian and his team will continue, leading to a complete split by the time the final issue roles around. Without their leader, it’s more than likely that the team will be somewhat aimless, and not sure what to do next. Here’s the art for Teen Titans #47 and solicitation from DC Comics:

  • Release Date: November 17th, 2020

  • Robin betrayed them. Superboy abandoned them. Now the only Teen Titans left are Crush, Kid Flash, Red Arrow, and Roundhouse. As the teen heroes wrap up what may be their final mission, they’re going to get some unexpected encouragement from a group that knows a little about how hard it is to be heroes. Special guest stars the original Titans prove there may still be some good this team can do in the future.

As the synopsis shares, Damian will have completely betrayed the Teen Titans by issue #47, and Superboy will have totally left them to join the Legion of Superheroes in the 31st Century. The news that the original Titans will be making an appearance in the final issue is interesting though. Hopefully, they’ll be able impart some guidance and wisdom for the young heroes in terms of what the future might hold for them.

As for Damian, it looks as though his dark journey will continue in the future pages of Detective Comics, with Batman himself stepping in to deal with his son personally (as he should). In any case, while the ending is in sight for the Teen Titans, it will hopefully only be temporary and fans will see them again soon after.
