In an entirely unpredictable turn of events, it appears that popular streamer and Esports star Tfue and legendary makeup guru and first male Cover Girl star James Charles have been out on a valentine’s day date. Both of the men are currently single with Tfue having gone through a recent breakup from streamer Corinna Kopf.
It all began when Charles posted on Twitter asking if anyone would be his valentine’s date. The tweet had over 69.5k likes with 5.8k for Tfue’s reply that simply said “me.” Shortly afterward Charles confirmed he’d be down for that, with Tfue saying the condition was anywhere but LA.
Shortly after Charles posted this simple tweet, leading to huge speculation about where he was going and with whom.
We now know that he was in fact flying to meet Tfue, likely in his Florida home. The “date” was confirmed by a Tweet, posted by Tfue himself. His tweet was accompanied by a photograph of the pair on a jetski alongside a screenshot of Charles’ original proposal.
The tweet has caused a storm on social media where people are unsure of how to react. Naturally, the post has attracted a large number of homophobic replies, as seems to be the depressing reality these days, despite the fact that neither party has confirmed if this was an actual date. We have no idea if it was simply two single people deciding to do something impulsive, just for the sake of it. After all, while Charles is openly gay, Tfue has never commented on his sexuality but did just break up with a woman.
While some have been supportive, many fans are now speculating about Tfue’s sexuality and the impact on Charles remains to be seen. There’s a risk that Charles may see a rehash of last year’s distressing events when some big names distanced themselves from him following his very public spat with former friend Tati Westbrook. During the fallout, Westbrook accused Charles of using his fame to manipulate straight men, although in this case, Tfue was definitely the one making all the moves.
