10 The Ending Of The Underwater Episode

One of the most artistic moments in the history of BoJack Horseman came during season three. The almost totally silent episode, “Fish Out of Water,” is full of incredible visuals and a strangely gripping and entertaining storyline. However, the whole thing pretty much acts as a twenty-minute long set up for the final moment: BoJack’s realization that there is a button he could press on his breathing apparatus which allows him to talk is fantastic.

9 Mr. Peanutbutter’s Questions

Each character on BoJack Horseman has their own unique and persistent traits. While being one of the most truly, unfailingly lovely characters of all time, Mr. Peanutbutter also has his own ever-changing catchphrase.

“Am I a *something* because *something*?” In the final episode, BoJack finally asks Mr. Peanutbutter if that’s something he does all the time: “Am I a British prog-rock band from the 70s? Because, Yes.” It’s flat out genius.

8 Todd’s Big Ideas (And Big Successes)

It’s very difficult to separate the character of Todd Chavez from the early version of Breaking Bad’s Jesse Pinkman. However, where Jesse spiraled down a very bad path that led to the almost total destruction of his happier, carefree personality, Todd somehow managed to attain impressive levels of success with some of the craziest ideas of all time.

7 Princess Carolyn’s Tongue Twisters

Princess Carolyn’s own specific humorous trait was her ability to string together complex tongue-twisters. She wasn’t the only character to do it, of course, but Princess Carolyn certainly ended up having the most.

Season five provided arguably the best example: “So, a brief re-capitulation: This is not a room for repudiation of condemnation over string cheese appropriation accusations. Mediation is an invitation for open conversation, frustration, de-escalation, and exchange of information, which, in summation, removes any justification for litigation involving this corporation.”

6 The Ending Of The Funeral Episode

Much like the underwater episode, the most critically-acclaimed episode of BoJack Horseman was basically twenty-minutes of set-up for a great one-liner. Of course, the whole episode, “Free Churro,” was an emotional rollercoaster and totally unique for an animated show, but the revelation at the end that BoJack was pouring his heart out to a family of lizards he had never met before was just perfect.

5 Daniel Radcliffe’s Cameo

One of the most surprising cameos BoJack Horseman was the almost full-episode appearance from Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe. He was such a fan of the show that he ended up recording his lines remotely, just so he could appear.

The episode is full of great content from Radcliffe himself, but the highlight comes when BoJack spitefully claims that it was Elijah Wood who starred in Harry Potter.

4 Birthday Dad

The whole idea of Birthday Dad is one of the funniest and most ridiculous things to ever come out of a television show. For some reason, despite the actual content never really being explained (honestly, what could it possibly be about?) the show turns into a huge hit that led to the creation of a Nobel Prize just so it could be awarded to the series.

3 Hollywoo

Commitment in a TV show is something hard to find. Season two of Breaking Bad pulled it off pretty well by having the plane crash foreshadowed many episodes earlier, but BoJack Horseman takes it to another level. In the sixth episode, “Our Story Is a ‘D’ Story,” the ‘D’ is stolen from the Hollywood sign, and from then on, Hollywood is persistently referred to as Hollywoo. Simple and brilliant.

2 Vincent Adultman

Arguably the funniest character BoJack Horseman ever produced was Princess Carolyn’s short-lived boyfriend, Vincent Adultman.

He was very clearly two boys stacked on top of each other in a long suit desperately trying to pretend to be old and wise, but Princess Carolyn remained persistently shocked by how mature he was.

1 BoJack’s Feelings Towards The Rock Opera

Before he ended up having a lot of weird success with his wacky inventions, Todd came up with a sprawling idea for a rock opera he so desperately wanted to create. BoJack hated the idea so much that it delivered some of the best one-liners the show ever produced: “That was, and I don’t say it lightly, worse than a hundred September 11ths” and “Imagine if the Holocaust happened every four years like the Olympics. I would rather that happened than your rock opera.”
