30 Best: Zapotron
Starting this list off with a bang, or rather, a zap, the Zapotron is one of the most unique weapons to ever get released in the game. While it was only available for an extremely short period, 6 hours to be exact, the Zapotron was instantly dubbed an overpowered weapon for its extreme accuracy and stopping power.
The only downfall of this weapon is that it is not available anymore, and was only in the game for such a small time that the players will never know its true power.
For those who do not know of this gun, it was an experimental item that charged up energy blasts that shoot like sniper bullets.
29 Best: Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle
The Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle is definitely a treat for anyone that picks it up, and this is especially true when the legendary variant is the one that is found. While it is not very fast in fire rate or even powerful in damage, it still features one of the best items for reconnaissance in the thermal scope. It can see through walls and the structures that enemies make so it is a way of being able to get a competitive advantage on any opponent that believes that they are unseen.
28 Worst: The Bush
Ah yes, the bush. Characteristically found littered around emptied loot chests, abandoned for better weapons & items. The bush is probably the worst item in the entire game, just based on its practicality and popularity. There is almost no benefit to using the bush or even having it in your inventory as its uses are extremely situational or just plain ridiculous. The bush is a one-time use, “stealth” item that disguises the character in a bush, very similar to the ones found all throughout the island.
27 Best: Burst Assault Rifle
To quote one of the greatest Fortnite streamers Tfue, “the burst assault rifle does not belong in battle royale game.” As of recently, the iterations of the burst assault rifle outside of the legendary and epic variants of the game have been vaulted, much to the delight of a lot of players in the game. However, the legendary version of the gun is probably one of the most underrated guns in the entire game. The gun has a high damage cap and can just about take anyone out in one burst. It does a whopping 66 damage per bullet while shooting three bullets at a time.
26 Best: The Chug Jug
The chug jug remains as one of the (if not THE) best healing items in the game and its legendary stature is almost a formality. In a sense, the chug jug represents the entire legendary item category as it stands as unrivaled by another item in its category. Bandages? No. Medkits? Pshh. Mini shields? Nah. Big pot? No thanks. The Chug Jug is the premier healing item and its only drawback is the extended time that it takes for the characters in Fornite to ingest the entire jug of chug. Other than that, it regains all of the characters shields AND health.

The compact SMG remained one of the worst legendary weapons in the entire game and this was made obvious with the recent vaulting that it faced in the most recent patch. The rare SMG is said to be a more powerful version than the legendary and epic versions of the SMG. This immediately makes the weapon seem like a failure but the fact of the matter is that the legendary SMG is still a force to be reckoned with. In this meta, the compact SMG is still a viable choice for combat, but it is far from being one of the best legendary available, and thus, it lands a spot on the worst of the best list.

Now it may seem very strange to add an item that serves as a trap as a weapon in the game but the mounted turret is a special case. This might be the most underrated item in the entire game.
It acts as a weapon in the but it also provides a metal base that can really add to the base of a built fort. This makes it a prime target for one of the best because it can act like either one of the most important aspects within the game. This might be the most underrated item in the entire game and has yet to be utilized in pro-competition yet.

When it comes to explosives, the legendary quad launcher is a testament to the game design of Epic Games. It is an explosive weapon that is actually easy and simple to use. It has four different shots in one clip and holds explosive ammo. It may seem like an intense amount but the fact of the matter is that explosive ammo is extremely limited as it is. Yet, with the quad launcher, you get a rocket launcher with four rockets per clip. The downside of this gun is that it features only four rockets and they are not as explosive or destructive as the RPG ammunition that is prevalent throughout the game.

This one is going to sting of a lot of fans of the grenade launcher. There is a huge debate between the viability of the grenade launcher in comparison to the quad launcher, but the fact of the matter is that the grenade launcher suffers from the opposite issue that its competitor has. This weapon has an extremely high skill cap that really only makes it usable for the most skilled or seasoned Fortnite players.
This means that most players that find this out of a loot chest will be hesitant to keep it over something like dynamite or a rocket launcher.

The legendary bolt-action sniper rifle was not in the game for very long, as it had a brief stint from seasons 4-6, but the weapon is fondly remembered as one of the best snipers in the entire game. The double barrel shotgun had one of the briefest stints as a legendary weapon, but it was definitely legendary. It may be said that high ground is the name of the game when it comes to Fortnite but at the end of the day, you need weapons and items that help you eliminate the other 99 people in a game.

It may be difficult for a lot of players to admit, but the suppressed pistol is hands down one of the coolest weapons in the entire game. First off, it has a large clip of 16 bullets and trust use, these bullets are no joke. Secondly, it has become apparent that just shooting one bullet at a time can lead to some pretty impressive results. With a headshot, the weapon can do over 40 damage, which makes it an elimination after just three shots. This may not seem very rewarding but the silencer on the end of the weapon makes it extremely difficult for enemies to find out where they are being shot from.
17 Best: Rocket Launcher
Known as the RPG among the Fortnite faithful, the Rocket Launcher is one of the most fun weapons to use in the entire game. The rocket launcher only shoots one projectile at a time but that one projectile is a massive rocket. Sure, it had a nerf in Season 6 that made the epic variant of the weapon a little weak but it still has the power to completely level a building in a rocket or two. Also, the rocket launcher has a fairly quick reload time so firing one and reloading is not exactly punishable by the enemy players.

Probably the most disappointing entry in this entire list: the jetpack. The jetpack was announced in Season 4 and theorized by fans as an addition to the game since the first season of Fortnite. Why is the jetpack so disappointing? Because it has had so many changes, nerfs, & buffs along with the removal and return of the weapon since its inception. It has been difficult to gauge just how useful the jetpack is. The jetpack is cool, but it does not propel the player very fast and it runs out of fuel very quickly.
15 Best: Infinity Gauntlet
There must be a balance in everything. Unfortunately for anyone who did not like the Infinity Gauntlet event in Season 5, this item brought almost no balance to the meta of the game. The Infinity Gauntlet was featured as a mythic weapon in the limited time event aptly named “Infinity Gauntlet”. Upon picking up this unique item that would spawn only once per game, the player would become Thanos from the Marvel Cinematic Universe complete with actor Josh Brolin’s voice lines being added. With Avengers: End Game coming out in April, there is a lot of hope that this beloved item and game mode will return. Here is to hoping!
14 Best: Heavy Sniper Rifle
Representing the sniper rifle category, here we have the heavy sniper rifle. A relatively new addition as it was brought into the game in Season 7 as a way to combat the abundance of close to mid-range weapons that were slowly starting to overflow in the game. The heavy sniper rifle is the most powerful weapon in the game (based on bullets) and can pretty much eliminate anyone. And those eliminations do not require a headshot. No, the heavy sniper rifle is dangerous to the life expectancy of any player in the game even if it hits so much as a toe of the character’s hitbox.
13 Worst: Present
Now the present is a weird addition to the worst list. The present was limited to a couple of months this Season, Season 7. It was a throwable that would spawn a huge 1-by-1 structure that looked like a gift-wrapped Christmas present. It was very festive, and in that sense, it was a very welcome addition to the game. There is nothing innately wrong with it, but the present lacked competitive viability. It would also spawn some pretty good loot inside the structure when it was thrown. Having said that, it was one of the worst “legendary” items and it should have been listed as an epic weapon.
12 Best: Heavy Assault Rifle
The heavy assault rifle, dubbed the “A-K” by the fans of Fortnite over its resemblance to its real-life counterpart AK-47, is a fantastic weapon. This gun takes assault rifle ammunition but acts more like a long-range sniper rifle with the way that it has pin-point accuracy after each individual shot. On top of that, it is more powerful than the other assault rifles (including the infamous SCAR) but its biggest drawback is its lack of accuracy after multiple shots and how it cannot be used efficiently when it is fired from the hip.
11 Best: Hand Cannon
The hand cannon is a bonafide classic. It has the power to stop people with a single shot and its accuracy means that it can be used from a distance to cancel some of the length disadvantages that a player might have.
The hand cannon’s stock has risen since the introduction of airplanes to the game in this season, making it a perfect weapon to chop down those steel birds.
This weapon also holds one of the unique distinctions of utilizing heavy sniper rifle ammunition without using a scope. This allows for the wider field of vision when aiming down the sights on the weapon and thus, makes it more viable for certain players.
10 Worst: Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle
The semi-auto sniper rifle is such a terrible weapon that almost no one noticed when it was patched out of the game in Season 7. This was one of the quietest removals of a weapon from the game in the history of Fortnite. It was known as one of the biggest indications as to whether the person using it was a noob or not. This was on the basis that they were innately using the weapon as a choice, something that absolutely no seasoned veteran would do. The gun was just inferior in almost every category to every other weapon in the entire game.

Talk about a weapon that has a divisive response among the community and you will have to look no further than the mini-gun.
The mini-gun is also known as one of the best guns for late-game fights due to the difficulty of battling against it when alone in a one-on-one confrontation.

8 Best: Suppressed SCAR
Speaking of divisive opinions on a weapon in the game, the Suppressed SCAR comes in at number five on the list of the best. The suppressed SCAR was instantly seen as a potentially game-breaking weapon because of the fear that it would have all of the positives of the original legendary SCAR, but with the stealthiness and accuracy of a suppressed weapon. While it does feature most of the power of its original, it simply does not have the stopping power of its predecessor. However, these top 5 spots can honestly all be interchangeable (except number 1) so this can all be seen as subjective.
7 Worst: Guided Missle Launcher
Now, this is a curious case. The guided missile launcher is one of the most notorious weapons in all of Fortnite. On one hand, it gave us rocket riding on a solo basis & gave a unique way to play the game from afar whilst still using explosives against your enemies. That may seem like an awesome way to attack someone, and it is. Once Epic Games had realized that the weapon was too powerful, they immediately vaulted it. When they brought it back, the changes made it much weaker.
6 Best: Heavy Shotgun
Another fan favorite in the mix (and a personal favorite of ours), the heavy shotgun is a sweet sign of satisfaction as a relatively new addition to the game. Introduced in Season 6, right before the end of the season, the heavy shotgun (also called the anti-aircraft gun by the community) is a highly accurate and devastatingly powerful shotgun that is not to be toyed with. While not capable of one-shotting a full-health opponent, this weapon is still really cool to use. There is just something so satisfying about its powerful sound effect and dark color scheme.
5 Best: Pump Shotgun
There once was a time in Fortnite where the pump shotgun was capable of destroying enemies in one blast. All seemed lost until everything changed when the legendary pump shotgun was introduced in Season 7. It has a somewhat slow fire rate, but the power and accuracy behind this behemoth of a weapon make it one of the best guns in the entire game. Oh, and the return of the one-shot shotgun has restored the hectic balance and brought back the controlled frenzy that makes Tilted Towers (and the game as a whole) that much better.
4 Worst: Silenced Sniper Rifle
Coming in as one of the worst of the best, the silenced sniper rifle is not as bad as it’s placement on this list. The only problem that it really has nothing special going for it. It is basically the bolt-action sniper rifle, but with severely reduced damage. Yeah, it has a suppressor on the weapon, which makes it favorable for players who are trying to stay healthy but the fact of the matter is that the bullet trails and red prompt on-screen can give away the position of the shooter just the same as being heard or seen. For the most part, this gun is useless to carry when it comes to finding even remotely better loot.
3 Best: SCAR
A fan favorite, and the ol’ faithful; the Gold SCAR. This assault rifle is the cream of the crop, the most sought after weapon in the entire game and usable on any skill level. Yes, this has all the makings to be the best weapon in the entire game and as of the writing of this article, it is! (however, number 1 is reserved for something really special) There is no drawback to this weapon. The accuracy is absolutely unrivaled when shot at a controlled fire rate, the damage is piercingly powerful, and shots to the head can result in almost instant eliminations, and it takes the most common type of ammunition in the game.
2 Worst: Scoped Revolver
The worst legendary weapon is actually also the newest legendary weapon to be added to the game. Added only a couple of weeks ago, the Scoped Revolver seemed to be a brand new way to shoot down enemies and a lot of people were excited. The prospect of having a powerful handgun with a scope got a lot of people wondering about the possibilities of the weapon. Unfortunately for those fans, they would be left disappointed by a less-than-desirable weapon that is defeated by the common and uncommon versions of SMGs, shotguns, and assault rifles.
1 Best: Infinity Blade
Ah yes, there was nothing else. Nothing else whatsoever. When it comes to the greatest legendary weapons in the game, this one that debuted in the early stages of Season 7 is the most powerful weapon that ever existed.
Players were given a sword that could rip through structures in one hit, double the base health, and shields of the character, allow them to leap over extremely large distances, regain health over time, and do 75 damage with each swing of the extremely large sword.
Part of the ongoing snow-theme of this season, the Infinity Blade was added to the game for about two weeks before being vaulted.
