The ladies of The Bachelor season 25 are crushing hard on Matt James, and it’s easy to see why after taking a look at his Instagram profile. It has become a tradition within the Bachelor franchise for producers to cast former contestants as leads in subsequent seasons. After all, there are plenty of great Bachelor Nation contestants that just didn’t get chosen in the end, but still deserve a shot at finding love through this platform. However, it is important to note that this isn’t necessarily a hard rule that they always follow. It’s always possible for the series to cast individuals that aren’t part of Bachelor Nation yet.
Last year, ABC announced that Matt James would lead The Bachelor in 2021, making him the first Black male lead in the history of the franchise. But regardless of the historic significance behind Matt’s casting, he is a very traditional choice to lead the season. He has a great sense of humor, looks great, and sounds pretty smart. Bachelor Nation had already been keeping up with Matt for a while given that he’s best friends with The Bachelorette season 15 runner-up Tyler Cameron, but he is now a reality TV star all on his own.

Now that The Bachelor season 25 is in full swing, the fans will get to watch a group of women competing for a chance to fall in love with Matt James. There will hopefully be a happy ending for Bachelor Nation to celebrate at the finale, but for the time being, we can all enjoy the journey that this season will be.
