The Best Shiny Pokemon Introduced In Pokemon Legends Arceus

Shiny Pokemon are something that every trainer wants. Having one is like obtaining a precious jewel. They elevate your trainer status and showcasing them shows others how good of a trainer you are. They are something to be revered and coveted, and every Pokemon fan was ecstatic to find that shiny forms were in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

As soon as whispers regarding a certain Ponyta quest reached the Pokemon fan base, shiny hunters from across the world stood to attention. Not only are a good number of fan-favorite Pokemon ripe for shiny hunting, but the slew of new Hisuian Pokemon are eligible as well, but that leaves one question. Which ones should be hunted first? Here is a list of the most appealing shiny Pokemon only found in the Hisui region.

7 Hisuian Samurott

The ferocious and noble-looking Samurott gains a more frightening appearance in Hisui. The shells covering its head and arms become black with red, hinting at its new typing. Its whiskers are longer and far less tamed and its claws are a deep crimson. Its appearance screams dangerous and deadly as opposed to its far more regal-looking counterpart.

When shiny, the only thing to change in Samurott’s color scheme is its shells. The obsidian and red colors change into a startling white with eggshell accents. Its claws also turn white, making Samurott appear as if it were wearing actual seashells. With these new looks, Oshawott’s final form looks like a true prince of the sea.

6 Kleavor

The Best Shiny Pokemon Introduced In Pokemon Legends Arceus

This evolution of Scyther is reminiscent of fossil Pokemon in both typing and appearance. White spikes replace its wings and its green chitinous body is replaced by tan stone armor. Its blades become solid black axes and its face resembles a mask made from the same black stone. It’s incredibly intimidating, and its color scheme makes its stand out from the others in its line.

In its shiny form, the tan stone of Kleavor’s armor becomes a mossy green. At first glance, this change is a callback to its previous form, but it’s more than that. The green is darker, more akin to moss than Scyther’s body. Considering how moss grows on anything, including stone that’s been left alone for a time, this is a nice detail for Kleavor’s shiny form.

5 Hisuian Braviary

Braviary’s Hisuian form is nearly identical to the original Braviary, save for its color combination and head crest. Where it was once dark red and navy, it is now white and dark gray. The head crest of feathers that had once resembled a Native American war bonnet are now a plume of purple and blue spectral flames. Its tail also changes to resemble the tail of a jet plane.

When shiny, Hisuian Braviary becomes the definition of a nocturnal predator. Its white feathers become a sleek black and nearly blend in with its dark gray underbelly. The fiery plume on its head changes to bright cyan with white markings inside. At night, this Pokemon is practically invisible save for the glowing ‘face’ of its plumage.

4 Overqwill

The Best Shiny Pokemon Introduced In Pokemon Legends Arceus

When hints about a possible evolution for the Qwilfish line were found in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, fans were ecstatic if not curious. The lore depicting a Qwilfish with abnormally large spikes piqued our interest and the game delivered. Overqwil is just that, a Qwilfish with incredibly large spines. Like Hisuian Qwilfish, it has a black upper body and a cream-colored underbelly. Its lips are bright magenta as are the tips of its upper spikes.

In its shiny form, the black fades to a steel gray, giving the Pokemon an almost metallic appearance. Its lips and the tips of its spines become a lavender color, almost like deadly nightshade. If this were its default color scheme, one would think that this Pokemon would be a steel and poison type.

3 Hisuian Sneasel

While speculation revolving around the climbing mount being an addition to the Sneasel line were widely known, very few anticipated that Sneasel would gain a regional variant. It has predominately white fur with its face and upper chest being purple as is its feather. Its claws are also purple, though much darker in reference to its new poison typing.

This Sneasel’s shiny form is nearly the complete inverse. Its fur becomes a dull gray and its face and chest are black. Its two gems are light blue and its feather is a light yellow. Finally, its claws appear to have been dipped in gold. While it doesn’t look as ‘poisonous’ as its normal form, its shiny is no less intimidating.

2 Hisuian Zoroark

The sole normal-ghost type has a drastic change from its Unovan counterpart. Its once dark gray fur has become a bleach white with wisps of red mixed in with its chest fur. Its equally pale mane is no longer restrained by a large bead and flows freely in the air. Its tips bleed into a dark red. Its entire demeanor screams ghostly and malicious.

Hisuian Zoroark’s shiny form, like many of Hisui’s shiny Pokemon, is a call back to its descendants’ shiny form. Its stark white fur reverts to the species’ original dark gray and the red highlights turns to a royal purple. Its mane and shoulder fur remain white, but its resemblance to the original Zoroark is unquestionable.

1 Hisuian Arcanine

Hisuian Arcanine already looks amazing without its shiny variant. Its deep orange fur looks almost like molten magma under the stone armor it now wears. All in all, Hisuian Arcanine looks as if an imperial guardian lion had been born from the crust of the earth, perfect for its fire and rock typing. This cool and intimidating look is only enhanced with its color alteration.

Hisui’s Arcanine is very similar to the original. Where it was dark orange, its fur lightens to a brilliant gold color. Its stone armor lightens ever so slightly with the reddish-orange accents turning gold along with its fur. While it no longer has the molten golem-like aesthetic, it now resembles gold peeking out from a chunk of ore.
