According to this video, Black Noir has a habit of setting up a Japanese tea ceremony to drink green tea, which is just the most unexpected hobby that someone in the show could have.

The idea of a powerful hero like Black Noir having an allergy to Black Noir sounds absolutely ridiculous… and yet, that’s exactly what turns out to be the case.

The inspiration for this idea was actually from the real-life tree nut allergy that Nathan Mitchell — the actor who plays the role of Black Noir — has. It’s quite a neat addition, and definitely an interesting tidbit for anyone that’s looking into this character.

1 Black Noir’s Allergy Was Foreshadowed Early On In The Show

For all the people that think Black Noir’s tree nut allergy was a MacGuffin that came out of nowhere, one need only look at a previous episode to realize that this allergy was already hinted at way before.

In Episode 4 of Season 2, there’s a scene where Black Noir is offered a candy bar by a Vought employee… only for him to vehemently refuse the offer and even tell said employee to throw the candy bar in the trash. At the time, this seemed like a bit of an overreaction. However, with the revelation of this allergy, we can understand why Black Noir was so averse to anything that could possibly have tree nuts in it.
