You probably have no idea you want to hear a rubber chicken sing anything, not least one of the most popular jingles from one of this year’s most popular shows. You might not know it, but you do.
Everyone remotely interested in The Witcher, be it the game or the novels, is likely done watching Netflix’s version of the show. And we can confirm that several people with zero previous interest have become huge fans too.
One of the most memorable parts of the series came in the form of a short song, a song which is likely the first thing that also pops up in one’s head when The Witcher floats into thought. Sang by Geralt’s pesky friend Jaskier, “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher” became an international hit after people came across it nearing the end of the show’s second episode.
Since then, several versions of the catchy chorale have surfaced, one of the newest from a non-sentient rubber chicken who goes by the name of ChickenSan.
The rubber toy has been doing this for a while now, of course, with the help of a pair of hands that squeeze his stomach to force the melodic delivery out to a mic. How those hands manage to get different sounds out of one rubber chicken is something we’ve decided not to investigate. But the latest performance, which you could see below, is not half bad.
As you could probably tell, ChickenSan hasn’t exactly taken off on Twitter yet. There were only nine retweets and 22 likes at the time of writing and the account has garnered just over 1,500 followers since August of 2018.
The following is a lot higher on YouTube, where 272,000 subscribers have been brought in so far, while Instagram has also been kinder with 30.1K followers secured.
So, while he’s not half as good as Jaskier, you probably don’t regret hearing a rubber chicken belt out his throaty version of The Witcher’s signature ballad. If you do, then we are sorry.
