Host Geoff Keighley has confirmed The Game Awards 2021 will showcase about 40 to 50 different games when it premieres in early December. After last year’s digital-only event, this year’s Game Awards returns with an in-person gathering that viewers can tune in to via streaming platforms such as Twitch and YouTube. And if teases from Keighley are anything to go by, this is one gaming celebration that enthusiasts won’t want to miss.

In a news post for Epic Games (via Game Informer), Geoff Keighley teased The Game Awards 2021 lineup, noting that lots of content centered around 2022 and 2023 games would take center stage. The show host additionally said viewers can expect between 40 to 50 games to appear in “some way or another.” And the number of new game premieres sits somewhere in the double digits; thus, at least 10 previously unannounced titles will enter the spotlight come December 9. “Things are still evolving,” though, Keighley added, which suggests not everything is set in stone as of yet.

Last year’s Game Awards featured reveals from the likes of BioWare’s next Mass Effect project and the Vin Diesel-starring Ark 2. It should be interesting to see how The Game Awards 2021 follows it up. Plus, staples to the long-running ceremony remain on the docket. In addition to game reveals and awards, celebrity guests and a live orchestra will also make a comeback this year.
