The final faction in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been revealed and it involves a clan that was playable in the previous game, but won’t be in the sequel. Clan Nosferatu is back as the members of the Unseen faction, who watch the other vampires in Seattle from the shadows.

The Nosferatu suffer from one of the most debilitating banes of any clan in the Vampire: The Masquerade world, as they are transformed into hideous monsters upon the moment of their embrace. The appearance of Count Orlok in Nosferatu could be considered a default state for the hideousness of each member of the clan, but each Nosferatu is disgusting in their own unique way. It’s for this reason that they are often shunned from the sects made up of vampires from other clans.

The Unseen faction has been detailed on the Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 website and it mostly consists of Nosferatu, as they hide among the homeless and destitute of Seattle in order to keep themselves safe from harm. The rulers of the Unseen are a group known as both the Council of Three and the Speakers, which makes them one of the few factions in the Vampire: The Masquerade world to be ruled by multiple individuals on an equal footing. The Unseen have been watching the other vampires within the city closely, in order to gather information that can be used at a later date, as revealing secrets is one of the surest ways of ensuring someone’s downfall.

The original Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines had seven playable clans, but only five will be playable in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 at launch. Clan Gangrel and Clan Nosferatu will not be available in the game at launch, though they could potentially be added later as DLC. The fact that the Nosferatu have their own faction in the game suggests that they will be added eventually.

The five factions in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 have been revealed and they represent some of the most powerful groups from the tabletop game. It will be up to the player to decide which of these factions is worth joining. It’s possible that every choice is doomed to failure and that picking a side is simply deciding upon an executioner.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in March 2020.
