There are more Persona 5 games on the way in the form of Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Scramble, to say nothing of the fighting game that will likely be arriving in the future. It’s clear that there is still a lot of demand for the Phantom Thieves, so Atlus should use them in a game where they may be needed the most.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions Could Use A Promotional Bump
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE was a flop on the Nintendo Wii U, but that could be attributed to the low sales of the console. The game is receiving an updated port on the Nintendo Switch, which is a system with a much larger install base than the Nintendo Wii U. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is a loose crossover between the Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei series, both of which have had a lot of success over the past few years, but the game could still use a little extra something to bring in new fans.
The Phantom Thieves Fit The Aesthetic Of The Game
The world of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is a colorful anime paradise filled with magical popstars and villains that look like Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure rejects. Not all of the Phantom Thieves’ crossovers have made sense, but their outlandish attire and flashy combat abilities mean that they would fit right in with the Mirage Masters of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore. The Phantom Thieves would certainly fit in Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore better than the SEES members in Persona 3 and the Investigation Team from Persona 4, as they just looked like groups of school kids (except for Koromaru and Teddie).
A Mementos Dungeon & Secret Boss Battle Would Be Awesome
The best way to include the Phantom Thieves in Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore would be as secret bosses in a new dungeon based on Mementos. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is including at least one new dungeon, but one based on Mementos from Persona 5 could make for an excellent post-game challenge stage.
It has been revealed that Persona 5 Royal will have DLC battles that pit the Phantom Thieves against the protagonists of both Persona 3 and Persona 4, so why not the do the same thing for Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore?
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore will be released for the Nintendo Switch on January 17, 2020.
