Those of you who are disappointed with the poor lineup of games for the PlayStation Classic will soon be able to do something about it, as it has been revealed that you can easily access the emulation settings on the system.

A Twitter user named Nibel has revealed that certain USB keyboards that are connected to the PlayStation Classic will allow you to access the system settings, which offers a lot more options than what can normally be accessed, such as adding scanlines.

The discovery has only just been made, but it has major repercussions for the system, as having access to the system settings will make it easy for hackers to be able to create a framework that will allow fans to add their own games, or even switch out the inferior PAL versions of the current roster with the superior NTSC versions of each game.

It’s a well-known fact that the Nintendo and Super Nintendo Classic consoles are just as susceptible to hacking as the PlayStation Classic, so it was only a matter of time before the same thing was accomplished with the PlayStation Classic. It’s just the fact that Sony has made it so easy, or maybe they just didn’t care enough to try and hide it.

The PlayStation Classic has been derided since the day the full lineup of games was revealed, due to the lackluster selection of titles it offers. These complaints only increased when it was revealed that many of the games used the slower PAL versions and that the quality of the emulation was subpar compared to what was on offer on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation Vita.

The fact that the PlayStation Classic is so easy to hack may be a blessing in disguise, as it may allow fans to turn something that was considered by many to be a waste of money into something worthwhile, even though you won’t be able to play any of the Dualshock games (like Ape Escape) on the system due to the controllers lacking joysticks.
