Kidman plays therapist Grace Fraser in uptown NYC whose life takes a sudden turn when a shocking murder rocks her social circle and her husband, a respected doctor, is accused of the crime. Actor Hugh Grant, who had only just been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award for his role, plays the husband Jonathan Fraser, accused of a crime he seems unlikely to have committed. Both actors are phenomenal and left audiences wowed with their performances and interpretations of their roles.

The Undoing is no exception, as she takes on the role of a woman confronted with horrifying secrets about the man she loves. 3 Grant: A Flash Of Hugh Grant

In spite of taking on such a different, dark character, Hugh Grant’s Jonathan still had flashes of the old Grant that fans adored, although it didn’t seem out of character or stereotypical.

Grant is well-known for his particular style of acting, replete with deadpan sarcasm. Jonathan Fraser in The Undoing too has his own brand of witty repartees, which allows the fans a glimpse into the man they loved, but also fits well into the beyond-all-suspicion front that this wealthy NY oncologist had built for himself.

2 Kidman: The Intense Chase

Kidman’s power-packed performance reached heights during the final few moments of the show when Jonathan had kidnapped their son Henry and was making off with him, even as the entire police force closed in on him. Grace and her father were put into a chopper that was following Jonathan’s car around the bustling city.

The vulnerability of a terrified mother whose only concern at the moment is her child’s safety, was brought to the fore effortlessly by this scintillating actress.

1 Grant: The Chilling Climax

The same goes for Hugh Grant, in the series’ tense climactic moments when everything comes to a head and Jonathan’s whole facade has come crashing down.

The look of madness in Grant’s eyes and the chilling revelation that he was capable of becoming something inhumane was particularly intense. At this time, one cannot help wondering whether he is doing all this from actual love for his son, or the need to be adored that stems from his narcissism. Grant’s remarkable acting elevated the scene and was truly impressive.
