Geralt of Rivia spends the majority of his time on the road in The Witcher 3, hunting monsters and fulfilling grizzly contracts, but that doesn’t mean he can’t find time for earthly indulgences. His travels take him all over the Continent and Skellige Isles — and into the arms of all types of women along the way.

It’s no secret that Geralt appreciates a forward woman. That’s clear enough by his long and tumultuous romance with Yennefer of Vengeberg throughout the years. In some instances, Geralt will have the opportunity or even be directly propositioned for a quick romp in the middle of a main quest, while in others, he’ll have to work a bit harder.

Updated on October 16, 2021 by Kim Dailey: Despite propagating the idea that witchers have no emotion, Geralt is an exceedingly lusty monster hunter and we’re guessing, even with his most skillful advances, you didn’t manage to romance all of his possible pursuits on your first playthrough. And because The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt is a shining example of a phenomenally crafted evergreen game, we’re betting you’re back for likely more than a second playthrough. That’s why we have revamped this article, to help you help Geralt make the most out of his extracurriculars.

Keira Metz

Despite kicking off the events of The Witcher 3 with a long and ardent search for his estranged love, Yennefer of Vengeberg, it is Keira Metz who Geralt will first have the option of romancing in the game. After completing the main story quests, “Hunting A Witch” and “Wandering in The Dark,” Keira will extend an invitation for Geralt to join her at her home. If he accepts, Geralt must complete the side quest “A Towerful of Mice,” helping Keira lift a curse.

The sorceress asks one last favor of Geralt: to track down an order of goods she was expecting, in order to prepare a surprise candlelit dinner for two. After briefly discussing recent events, Geralt can cut right to the chase or wait for Kiera to proposition him. Keira will then incite a flirty game of hide-and-seek before ending the night under the stars by the riverside.

Jutta An Dimun

Geralt can enjoy a rendezvous with the proud and fierce warrior Jutta An Dimun by besting her in a round of swordplay during the side quest “Iron Maiden.” Geralt will find Jutta on the small island of Faroe in the Skellige Isles. She will be in a fighting ring on a hilltop East of Harviken in the midst of a bout.

By approaching her, Geralt will learn she is on a mission to find a man that can best her in a sword fight, but she won’t bout with just anyone. Unfortunately, Dandelion’s ballads about Geralt of Rivia or the acclaimed White Wolf haven’t reached her ears. The only way Jutta will have heard of the witcher is if he has already defeated Olaf in the Fists of Fury competition. Otherwise, the iron-fisted maiden will set Geralt on one of two tasks to prove his worth. She will decide by random whether Geralt is to go to Harviken to challenge and best Gundar, or to retrieve the sword of Horned Hoskuld from his shipwreck at the bottom of the sea.

Once Jutta deems him worthy, she will spar with Geralt, but if he loses or cheats by using any of his witcher signs, that’ll be the end of the matter. Geralt will have to beat Jutta fair and square then agree to share his story back at the war maiden’s hut. After some uncharacteristically shy chatter, Jutta confesses she made a vow to only lay with a man that has bested her in combat. What’s more, she’s looking for the whole shebang of a husband and little bairns.

It seems a cruel joke that she was to finally be bested by the witcher who can offer her neither. However, after so long searching for a worthy bedmate, Jutta happily settles for a simple night of passion. This makes for one of Geralt’s more interesting pursuits as Jutta’s demeanor shifts from hardened war-maiden to timid and bashful. Most would expect a rowdy escapade to ensue between the two warriors; instead, it turns out to be one of the more sensual romances in the game.

Madame Sasha

By taking part in the “High Stakes” quest involving a Gwent Tourney at the Passiflora, Geralt may earn the affections of Madame Sasha by either helping or beating her in the tournament. Fair warning: this tournament isn’t for beginners. Geralt should spend some time building up a strong deck and learning a handful of masterful tricks in order to hold his own in the competition, as the other competitors in the High Stakes tourney are the best of the best Gwent players around.

If Geralt manages to help Sasha or pull a victory over her, she will extend a dinner invitation to the witcher. Accepting the offer sets the gears in motion for a very steamy night indeed.

Brothels

If Geralt finds himself down on his luck in the romance department, he can seek solace at one of Novigrad’s brothels. The Passiflora is one of Novigrad’s more welcoming establishments, located near the bridge to Temple Isle, where Geralt may take a reprieve from life on the road for a night, with a warm bed and friendly company. If Geralt is looking for a more exotic fling, the Passiflora also employs an elf-mistress who is happy to oblige.

Crippled Kate’s is the other brothel in Novigrad, located on Glory Lane just up from Hattori’s shop. Despite what the name suggests, the ladies at this establishment are in fine health, though not nearly as warm and welcoming to witchers as the Passiflora. Geralt may find more salt and vinegar in this establishment than sugar and spice, but at half the cost of the Passiflora, what’s a light-coined witcher to do?

Syanna (Blood & Wine Expansion)

Syanna propositions Geralt after he helps her vanquish the Giant atop the beanstalk in the quest “Beyond Hill and Dale.’ Though this is part of the main questline that unfolds during “The Night of The Long Fangs”, it is an optional path that Geralt could potentially miss altogether. To successfully romance Syanna amidst these turbulent events, Geralt will have to opt to go looking for her while Detlaff and his band of bloodsuckers lay siege to Toussaint. He will find her trapped inside the Land of A Thousand Fables and will have to be understanding of the banished princess to win her over.

With the outcome of impending events uncertain for her, Syanna asks Geralt to consider her advancements a “last wish.” Geralt may oblige by selecting the option “Let her have her way with you.” Despite the exiled princess’ shifty nature, Syanna holds no devious motives in this exploit, and Geralt may enjoy a guilt-free romp through the clouds.

Shani (Hearts of Stone Expansion)

With the Hearts of Stone expansion, Geralt has the opportunity to romance his old acquaintance, Shani. At the end of the “Dead Man’s Party” quest, Geralt attempts to lift Shani’s spirits during the wedding feast. He can do this by bringing her either flowers or a drink. Both options result in a moonlit escapade on the lake. However, mixing the drink option with the proceeding waves, these two make results in a more humorous ending.

Triss Merigold & Yennefer of Vengerberg

It is no secret that Geralt finds himself torn between two exceedingly alluring sorceresses throughout The Witcher games. By the events of The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, Geralt has built up quite a history with both Triss Merigold and Yennefer of Vengerberg. As tempting as it sounds to romance both ladies, the attempt to woo them equally will lose Geralt both chances at lifelong love.

Triss

To pick up Geralt’s romance with Triss from the first two games, he must help her through the side quest “A Matter of Life and Death,” taking them to a fancy gala. Before things can get too hot and heavy, the love birds are interrupted, but Geralt gets another chance at the end of the quest “Now or Never.” Just before Triss boards the ship to Kovir, Geralt can plead with her to stay by either throwing his chips all in and professing his love or suggesting they try again. Both options result in Triss abandoning her voyage to be with Geralt, and they enjoy a night of passion up in the light tower.

Yennefer

By selecting “Let’s try again.” in his dialogue with Triss, Geralt has left the option open to change his mind and pursue his old flame, Yennefer, instead. Geralt’s first chance to rekindle the flame arises during the quest “The King is Dead- Long Live The King.” As the chamber fills with gas, Geralt must think of the first thing that comes to mind. If he chooses “I wanna kiss you,” Yenn portals them to safety, but at the cost of tearing her dress. If Geralt then chooses the forward option of watching Yenn change, things heat up quickly — and yes, there is a unicorn involved.

A second romantic encounter can be had with Yennefer during the “The Last Wish” quest. After their run-in with the Djinn, Geralt may decide his feelings for Yenn are true and tell her so, inciting a romantic culmination to their on-again-off-again relationship.

Geralt may pursue a vast number of exploits throughout The Witcher 3, but only Triss or Yenn will be long-term options in the end. He may take his sweet time deciding, but Geralt will be forced to choose eventually or face losing both ladies.
