Warning: Spoilers ahead for My Hero Academia Chapter 300

After Endeavor is incapacitated and Dabi’s revelation during the raid on the Paranormal Liberation Front’s hideout, the Hero Association’s forces have become thin and crimes have become common occurrences. The My Hero Academia manga has tackled serious issues in the past. The prime example of this is the background of the current No. 1 hero and Shoto Todoroki’s father, Endeavor. Endeavor has a huge inferiority complex towards All Might. Because of this, he has striven to acquire more power. Even his marriage is nothing but an attempt to form the greatest combination of quirks. He hasn’t been a good husband or a good father. He has constantly beaten his family, both physically and psychologically, to the point that his wife had to be hospitalized. Recent arcs of the series are tackling yet another serious topic. It’s proving that no society, even that filled with heroes, is perfect.

With Hawks’ great effort, the Hero Association manages to avoid the worst possible scenario and arranges a raid on the Paranormal Liberation Front’s hideout. However, avoiding the worst possible situation doesn’t necessarily mean leaving the scene unscathed. The heroes have suffered severe casualties with innumerable needing to be sent into the hospital. Included on that list are the top ranking heroes Endeavor and Hawks. In addition to that, Dabi also makes an announcement using edited footage to stir up the masses and make them lose faith in the heroes. Adding that to the already heavy blow the Hero Association has taken from the battle, they’re literally on their last legs.

Chapter 300 of the manga shows the impact of all these hardships. With the association’s most powerful heroes incapacitated and their name tarnished, the villains take it as an opportunity to run amok. Criminal activities have never been so high, and crime has been a common sight for the masses. The prison escapees, as well as reported Nomu sightings, only further worsen the situation. The heroes, whatever still remains, are not just standing idle. They’ve been doing their best to solve as much crime as they can, but they are just far too outnumbered.

It has come to a point that the civilians have to arm themselves and fight. The already thin lines of heroes are also further thinning with more heroes either ending up as casualties or withdrawing from the frontlines, which damages the masses’ confidence in the association all the more. At its current state, it’s no exaggeration to say that the world of My Hero Academia is heavily tilting towards lawlessness.

It’s fairly safe to say that the world of My Hero Academia is heading towards its lowest point yet. As the Paranormal Liberation Front’s forces increase, the Hero Association is slowly heading towards oblivion. Even renowned heroes are withdrawing from the front lines. Fortunately, the very top brass are only temporarily incapacitated. Given time, they should be able to get back into action. The question, however, is if they still have time to recuperate.
