A daily challenge popping up for some players in Warzone suggests that the unwanted Most Wanted contracts are set to make a return.

Three months since Warzone’s release, and Infinity Ward’s take on the battle royale genre is still going strong. More than 60 million players are awaiting the arrival of Call of Duty Season 4. The new season could mean all sorts of things for Warzone, including an in-game event that leads to a drastic map change.

When it comes to changes, Infinity Ward already knows it needs to tread very carefully. Battle royale players are easy to upset, and even the slightest tweaks to Warzone, have upset people to the point that Infinity Ward reverted those changes soon after, whether it be dropping a mode, fiddling with hitboxes, or getting rid of one contract type in favor of another.

That last one caused quite a stir. Last month, Most Wanted contracts were introduced to Warzone. On the surface, the premise seemed solid. The holder of a contract has to survive for five minutes. Should they do so, they will get cash rewards and their fallen teammates will be deployed. The catch? Every enemy on the map will be alerted to your exact position for those five minutes.

Players didn’t think the risk was worth the reward, and the contracts also replaced bounties which caused quite the uproar. Most Wanted contracts were swept under the rug soon after. However, some players have noticed Most Wanted related tasks popping up in their Daily Challenges. That has led people to believe that the unpopular feature might be about to make a comeback, possibly to kick off Season 4.

There’s a chance that the Most Wanted daily challenges were left in the challenge pool by mistake, and now that the issue has been flagged, players will never hear of them again. However, there is a chance Most Wanted contracts are coming back and a glitch has led to the cat being out of the bag.
