Another week, another awesome episode of TheGamer podcast has become available. In this week’s episode, we discuss Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, New World, and Industria. As always, the show is hosted by Eric Switzer. Guests this week include Jade King, Dave Aubrey, and Harry Alston. You can listen to the podcast now on Spotify, Apple Podcast, or Podbean.

To kickstart the show, we sit down to talk about the one of the biggest events from this past week—the launch of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Jade King and Dave Aubrey join Eric to discuss the similarities and differences between Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl and Smash Bros. Ultimate. They cover both the great qualities and what’s lacking in the new game, and they even discuss some of the features that the devs wanted to fix in All-Star Brawl that people complained about in Smash Bros.

Next, Jade King and Dave Aubrey join Eric to talk about another new game, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. They go over the best parts of the game, including the awesome retro feel it has, but they also dive into the very sudden difficulty spike that takes away from the experience. Additionally, they discuss the absence of an online multiplayer mode.

In the next section of the show, Harry Alston and Dave Aubrey sit down with Eric to talk all things New World. They try to figure out why New World is so addictive, though there doesn’t seem to be one clear reason. They also discuss why critics have been so down on the game, including talk about the game’s old-fashioned features, the awful dungeons, and the lack of enemy variation.

In the last segment, Eric takes some time to advocate for a game he’s been playing recently—Industria. He pitches the game as Half-Life 2, BioShock, and David Lynch combine for an awesome experience that’s four hours long. Industria is a throwback to the atmospheric shooters of the early 2000s, and Eric deems it the best four-hour game of the year.
