If you have an unbalanced gaming relationship, this “intensive gaming course” will help bring your partner up to your level. Or you up to your partner’s level–whoever’s the better gamer.
It’s Valentine’s Day, and that means many gamer couples around the world are going to bunker themselves down, order in Thai food, and spend the night cuddled up in front of a TV playing video games. For most of those couples, that’s the ideal Valentine’s Day date night, but for some, it’s a test of patience.
You see, not every gamer couple is on equal footing. Sometimes one partner is just better at gaming than the other, and that can cause problems–especially when you want to play Overwatch but your partner can’t hold down a control point to save their life.
You could do the right thing, take your partner under your wing, and teach them to be a better gamer. Or you can take the easy way out and send them away to gamer boot camp.
From Liberty Games (a UK-based games store) comes their Intensive Gaming Course. It’s “designed to stop you battling with your partner’s other lover… their PlayStation,” and take you “from zero to gaming hero.”
The course is run by professional “gaming instructors” and runs for a full day. After that one day of instruction, you’ll become an expert at one of 10 different games, including Minecraft, FIFA 2020, Fortnite, Red Dead Redemption, Animal Crossing, Grand Theft Auto, Call Of Duty, Mortal Kombat, or The Witcher.
That’s a tall order for just a single day of game instruction. They say you need 10,000 hours to become an expert in anything, gaming included, so even if this course is 24-hours long, it still seems like they may be over-promising on the results.
Also note that not all of these games are multiplayer. That’s because Liberty Games understands that some gamer couples will play a single-player game and toss the controller back and forth.
The course is £49.99, which is roughly $65 USD. Not that the conversion matters as it’s only available to UK residents or at least those who will be vacationing in the UK for a whole day.
