A game very much like Pokémon Go has just been released, but it doesn’t want you to go out and hunt monsters or animals. It requires players to look for and discover famous religious figures.

No video game, maybe ever, has taken the world by storm quite like Pokémon Go did back during the summer of 2016. It really did feel as if people were playing it literally everywhere you went, probably because they were. Parks and streets filled with people all trying to catch Pokémon.

Although the hype for Pokémon Go has naturally slowed down, the game and the app are still very popular. In fact, ahead of the recent rollout of the first batch of 4th generation Pokémon, Pokémon Go has been enjoying something of a resurgence. September was the most successful month for the app so far in 2018. A format as successful as Pokémon Go was always going to have others trying to mimic it.

The Walking Dead and Jurassic Park have both released similar mobile games, but no imitation is quite like the one that is about to hit app stores. It’s called Follow JC Go, and it requires players to look for and discover famous religious figures, as reported by EuroGamer. In fact, according to the game’s executive director, Ricardo Grzona, even Pope Francis likes the idea.

Much like Pokémon Go, the aim of the game is to get out of the house and find those religious figures and saints, as opposed to fictional creatures. Once you find them, you won’t need to feed them berries and trap them in a ball. They will simply give you some questions to answer and once you do, they will become a part of your “evangelization team.” You’ll also need to eat, drink, and even pray to build up your various in-game stats.

It may not have felt like the world was crying out for a religious version of Pokémon Go, but we have one nonetheless. Perhaps we only think that because we don’t necessarily hang out in the same circles as those who will be playing Follow JC Go. At the time of typing this, the game is only available in Spanish. However, there are plans to release it in English, Italian, and Portuguese.

Back then, Sonic 2 quickly became his favorite game and as you might have guessed from his picture, the franchise has remained close to his heart ever since. Nowadays, he splits his time between his PS4 and his Switch and spends far too much time playing Fortnite.
